He has been IMMENSE this season for Newcastle and would be a brilliant defender to have.

Some of you will say "We already have enough" but think about it yah...

    Vermi has injury problems.

Mertesacker needs a partner like Vermi.

    Koscienly is good.

Squillaci is awful, Miquel is decent but can't cut it.

So Coloccini would be ideal if we feel the need for another defender (For example, Long term injury to one or more of our CB's). MUCH better than the other options that are being mooted.

We are so going to get Cahill. 6 months left on his contract and Bolton will have one final chance to get some money. Its the perfect Arsenal deal.

don't know about coloccini, he is error prone (usually) and getting on a bit at 29 years old. would prefer steven taylor from newcastle (25). he's slower, but taller and more solid as an all round defender. saying that though, i personally think vermaelen, koscielny and mertesacker are better than those two and they won't want to go to 4th choice cb's from being starters with the toon.

Ciaran Clark. great prospect at villa, can play CB and LB <diva> and is a beast, like koscielny.

p.s. yes, those wait for its were to give me time to think of a player.

Coloccini will not sit on Arsenal bench. We definitely are not going to bid for Cahill either. We have THEE first choice CBs with Mert+TV+Kos and 3 back ups with JD, Sqill and Mig - this is more than enough. I am sure we are not in the market for a new CB this Jan and next summer. I think Cahill will end up with Spurs.

Hahaha seriously as a Newcastle fan, I feel my opinion on Colo and Ste Taylor would be helpful. Colo is lightyears ahead of Taylor, Colo hasn't been mistake prone for the past 2 seasons he's been phenomenal, his reading of the game is top class and he's one of the most cultured and technichally gifted defenders with the ball at his feet in the PL. Although Taylor's bigger and braver he's the one you'd expect a mistake off not Colo.

But you wouldn't get him anyway as like you said he's 29, and he'd command to big a wage for Wenger to consider giving to a 29 year old center back, and he's set to sign a 4 year deal in the next couple of weeks. :D

I think Colo would be perfect for Arsenal, been the most consistent player in our team for 2 and a bit years now. Hopefully his contract is sorted soon enough and you wont be able to get him!

I'd take Coloccini over Cahill in a heartbeat. Cahill is overpriced and massively overrated, Colo has been quietly excellent for the toon.

All of you people claiming Coloccini is the player Arsenal should buy are completely clueless, OMFG !

Worst defender in the Prem .. along with Titus "calamity" Bramble and all the other clutzes I've seen. He is a dreadful defender, worse than dreadful. This makes me wonder how much about football some of you actually know ... if you claim he is good, seriously.

When we were after Mexes I shook my head, if we ever dared go for Coloccini I will punch someone !

    We have:

TV - absolute class, all Arsenal fans agree.

Kosc - Brilliant defender who is constantly improving - he managed to dominate messi when we played Barca last year - quality defender.

Mertesaker - Tall German international who reads the game very well and is good in the air - fantastic to have in amongst kosc and verm.

These 3 are top quality CB's and anyone we brought in would be competing with these 3 for a place in the team so imo any CB brought in will be a 4th choice to take Djourou's spot with dj going down the pecking order and squil finding the door.

With that in mind Cahill would be a good shout but only at the right price - think he will end up at Arsenal or Chelsea - not the spuds. Why given the choice between the top 2 london clubs would you choose spurs? I guess if promised constant first team football he might but i think it'll be one of the bigger clubs who get him.

Coloccini i don't really have an opinion on.

Tbh i'm happy with our first 3 CB choices and Djourou is good enough for 4th choice and will improve imo (but if he doesn't maybe cahill or similar is the man for the job).

It'd be nice to have 4 top quality CB's fighting for a spot though!

So i wouldn't be annoyed with a CB signing!
