It does not ‘stink’ if you happen to be within the ownership group of West Ham…

Apart from us, obviously, ours doesn't cost a penny.

Hmmm, maybe not. But there must be some residual lingering odour if you are as happy as a pig in ****. Neither party wanted the full details of the lease agreement made public. For obvious reasons. It all came to light due to a freedom of information request.

Back to the MKM. Would I like to be the owner of the SMC lease? No. Would I like the local council to take over running of the stadium et al? No. And back again to West Ham. When the SMC lease expires, the 'Ammers agreement with the LLDC is going to be at the fore of any negotiations, with the addition of, oh, and by the way, we have a rugby team play here as well. On a Friday night usually. Hope it isn't pissing down too much as you try to re-line the pitch markings and taking the big posts down and putting up the not so big ones. At midnight.

I do hope he gets to buy the ground and everything that goes with it. Rugby is dying and the sooner it does the better.

Now on a more positive note, has the sale gone through?

We now just have to sit tight and wait for the EFL. Having David Dein as an advisor was a smart move in trying to make this part as seamless as possible.

Unfortunately we can’t dictate how quickly the EFL work on it - but the 2 days was given as a rough estimated time it should take at the stage we’re at.

Given that Tuesday/Wednesday could be seen as the 2 days - we are now at the ‘any time now’ stage.

The EFL will be aware of the potential impact their delay is having on our Transfer window - so will also be keen to have this in their out tray. Surely just a matter of days now!

One would hope so but we are talking the EFL, who's governing bodies negotiate penalties to clubs who have breached their rules ! Fraid I have little to no faith in them, stick of dynamite up their arses may work though !

McCann said he'd spoken to two players who were intending to sign which would suggest they're most likely at the club, as well as numerous people saying that there are signings just waiting the green light of the takeover being confirmed.

I wonder what the long term plan will be for the training facilities?

If you compare Leicester’s to the Cottingham training ground it’s just on a different planet.

A better example is Norwich's. A similar sized club to ourselves. Since 2008 up to this season had the same history as us, 5 seasons in PL, one in League 1 and the rest in the Championship. 9wnejrs only worth about £30 million. But have built a fantastic training complex with state of the art facilities. Of course they also have fans that stick with them, season passes sold out every year and not a crowd under 23,000 in all that time. Admittedly they don't have two sets of eggchasers to contend with but that was Hull's fault having two rugby clubs years before a football club unlike 99% of places.

Is it feasible to blame poor crowds on that when over a century has passed since? I think it’s more down to the consistently poor performance for 20 odd years which saw many attach themselves to ****e like Liverpool and Leeds. There will be a knock on effect from that as many of those will have brought kids up to be plastic ****e too. If performance remains similar to the last 20 years things will improve going forwards I’m sure.

Yes, a generation of kids brought up with us as a PL club or around the top of the Championship, will grow up and bring their kids to games. So if we can maintain our level in the Championship/PL over the next 10-15 years that should help a lot.

I do like a Norwich fact.
On listening to Canary Call on Wednesday. Delia's cakes have been in for too long, Budgies want her out of the kitchen. Big time.

Ps. We're a bigger club than them.

Agreed. I think it flatters the RL clubs to be honest, to say that they're responsible for City not having big crowds. Given that they play a minor sport but are still the most major sporting alternatives to City for miles in any direction, I'd say we're in a pretty great position to have bigger crowds. The lack of success at the times when football boomed into what it is now, are probably the biggest reason.

Still, it's never too late. You look at Brighton and the crowds they've built up after not even having a ground for however many years. It's not easy but possible. Hopefully Acun will have the energy and ideas needed, and isn't just planning on selling NFTs...

And ours it's rate free, don't forget that. The police and stewards work for nothing too, did you know that ? Despite someone saying our police bill is more then Arsenals. The electricity, gas and water just happens, no bill or anything, of course insurance is free too, and the grass cuts itself. No one takes a wage either.

Look at their crowds compared to ours over the past 15 years. On what basis do you come to that conclusion?
They may want her out but they still all their season tickets and still turn up every game. Wish we could say the same.
