lost his head after century <laugh>

doesn't seem to matter to us though. 230/5 now.

I think this test is already lost.

if they skittle us for 150 as the pitch under lights might be awful then we won;t have any bowling for second bloody innings.

    I agree .

Glen mg said earlier at the toss , bowl well skittle the team out , and you will be batting under lights . I know that’s not the situation , but I can only see this going one way .

Great start then Robinson pulls up and the fact is we've messed woakes and wood around so their rhythm is off and they are showing it now.

No Anderson.. clearly not playing him when the ashes was live paid off eh?

This looks like a declaration to me.

And IMHO , I’m no expert I’m just going on what others have said , putting burns back in , if he fails is possibly ruining for him .

I don't know what he would have done since being removed. Same for hameed. in out.. no consistency of decision making. really have to back the players and arm them with the data of what the enemy are doing to them.

well I would say the same about bowling line up.

they should have had a fair idea of how to play Australia who've also had injuries but made a damned well better fist of it.

Didn’t understand that. You drop burns because he’s not performed. Only to then bring him back in for last test. Unless it’s injury, surely he’s not exactly gone away and earned his place back has he?

Jusg shows how poor our batting line up is tbh

I also think that as Agnew said , it is also down to the higher powers , taking into account covid , to have arranged a far better pre series set if games . They dropped Burns , where can he go to get game time instead of being stuck in the hotel with no real distraction for his mind ?

For me Hameed was always a risk but he could at least defend. He doens't strike me as a confident lad and goes into a shell of extreme defensiveness and doesn't score. Crawley coming in cold did alreight but a lot of that is australia not having him all figured out.

Burns has clear issues with his game but is a fighter. australia had him figured out and put the ball where he can be beaten and he was. nothings changed between then and now. he will still be exposed.

look at woakes and wood and leach. in/out/in no consistency, no backing.

Feel sorry for wood today, getting slaughtered.

Think with burns is, he has a very strange technique. Now nothing wrong with that, don’t all have to be robots.

But if you’ve got an odd technique then it does leave you open to being found out. Almost need to be top top quality for it to not expose you and he’s just not there yet.

his issue is strange action or not, the bat is simply not straight when the ball arrives so his defence is suspect irrespective.

It's shot through but what England won't admit is the odd side is going to fall off the same cliff as well

I see England are as good as ever.

Burns so eager he gets himself run out for a duck.

Unlike England the Australians don't go negative with fields and take out root and malan and stokes who can't even move anyway.

80 odd for 5 with follow on rapidly coming
