y'see lads, i used to like man city for the same reason i like everton...because no matter what they do or how they play their neighbours get almost all the publicity and headlines much like the mags getting all the headlines around here.

man city are no longer 'that team' because they got rich and bought the headlines and the same is probably going to happen with the mags, they are now no longer 'that team' but just another rich mans real life fifa club, they may get to join the big six, there is nothing anyone can do about that and in all honesty good luck to them as with any other football fan i would like rich owners with a bottomless pit of cash in the premier league.

as it is, we have a young lad and his team who are steadily building the club again, should we end up back in the 'big league' and doing well then so much the better but the old rivalry basically died with that take over.

Totally agree with that last bit about the rivalry. I've said it myself on here and to mags I work with. It's gone. I'd never wish them luck, however even now, I've stopped looking at their results for a laugh.

It's a real shame but the derbies will never be the same again.

The Mags will wave money at us, we'll call them murderers ...

... and the football won't get a mention.

Well, personally I don't think it's the end of the Saudi takeovers. These people like to one up each other in most things they do. Next logical step is to buy the "rival" isn't it.

Everton have spent 536.5m over the last 5 years. They have the 3rd highest net spend in all that time and the supporters are saying that a squad overhaul is required. They're lingering in the bottom half of a really weak premier league.

Newcastle are already clearly struggling to attract players. Spending money isn't a guarantee to catapult them into the top 6. Eddie Howe certainly won't get them there regardless of how much money the Saudis chuck at it. Nobody wants to play for Howe. Villa don't have bottomless pockets and they're attracting quality players who have turned their noses up at Newcastle approaching them.

Howe is a disaster and, after Cambridge, no one can suggest there's any remaining enthusiasm for him.

To allow Staveley and others to traipse into the dressing room without him being there, after that game, was disgraceful.

Anything less than a win, against Watford, and I can't see him lasting the season.

This might have been an explosive takeover but it's been very low key and hesitant so far.

Despite their protestations the Newcastle supporters must be quite disappointed so far.

Let’s put it this way re Wood. If Ashley and/or Bruce were still there, with the same players Howe has, would the Mags have been lauding the signing?

Absolutely not. They’d have slated the club for not being more ambitious! But because it’s these Saudis, it’s a very good signing!

Quite right, there'd have been protests if Ashley had brought in Wood, lost at home to Cambridge and walked into the losing dressing room.

They're soiling their pants about Watford who are supposed to be 'nailed on' to go down.

After Newcastle, Watford have Norwich and Burnley so someone is picking up points ...

... in the meantime Newcastle have to go to Leeds.

They wouldn't have anything interesting in their lives if we didn't go on there mate. I look at it like care in the community.
That really thick one, I know, narrow it down a bit ;) .

As usual Nig I'm finding your waffle rather hard to decipher, but are you suggesting I wasn't aware of the Warm Glow thread? I've been aware of that since 2014. Just sayin.

Looks like the fumes from the chemicals you use the scrub out the crappers on the night shift are sending you doolally again....

No, it's me responding to Nig's wierd and wonderful post, enquiring as to what the hell he's talking about.

You seem, as Blond Bombshell would say, "rattled".

I understand why you'd assume that **** patter refers to you but I think the bit where he says toon army tit is a solid clue it's somebody with a similar username.

Not at all, I just find you tedious tbh.

The reason for your appearance was sadly predictable.

You don't want debate or 'to correct inaccuracies' regarding Newcastle ...

... you just want to post inane shyte and shout at Sunderland supporters.

Always the same sad routine isn't it.

They're like flies in a conservatory, buzzing around aimlessly smashing their heads into the glass ...

... before we pull their wings off and they crawl away into a corner to die.
