Update on future of in-demand Bristol City midfielder revealed https://footballleagueworld.co.uk/update-on-future-of-in-demand-bristol-city-midfielder-revealed/
I think it's time to move Massengo on as for me he has never lived up to the hype. He shows great ball control at times but he wastes a lot of the plays he has created by playing poor passes after the fact and frankly I don't think that this is the time to wait for the expected major contributions to our football from Hanna because like a lot of other works in progress he rarely delivers the goods.
We should look to tie him down into a longer contract, he’s still only 20 with lots of championship experience and still improving, plus as JGF says prices at the moment are deflated due to COVID, selling now would be madness, unless he wants to go.
100%, any price assets we have right now (which aren't many) we should hold on to for another year to let prices settle. Lots of clubs will be selling at losses or letting expensive signings go on a free to cut the wage bill. To sell now is madness, unless the cost of not selling him is higher, i.e. if we can't balance the books and break FFP and get a points deduction. That would be worse for City right now, vs potentially losing a few quid further down the line.
there may be a freebie addition in next week and possibly 1 player might go .... rumour is 1 of the goalies might be between someone elses sticks!
I agree with some of your comments about Massengo but I find him to be one of our usual works in progress and he frustrates me in that he has, despite all his runs and tricks, never met the reasons why he came to us. Five year plans have been hanging around Ashton Gate for way more than 5 years which to me means we are not capable of getting it right despite all of the promises and commitments made by our leader. The footballing pundits know exactly what we are and that is a club that has little or no direction and will continue to be a mid-table team with little ambition despite the annual hype and big talk.
SAM BALDOCK ..now 32 end of career but would he fit in for rest of season, a quick swoop on £2 -3 k a week plus bonus ? replace Martin? .. cover...!
Danny Rose contract at Watford has been cancelled. Any interest or would he be too greedy and want a fortune?
I can't believe you even need to ask the question. Way too big of ego on that man. RP would love another "small un" though
That's a good idea, let's get rid of another of our best players.....and then wonder why we are sh!t..
Agree, if only we can keep our good young players and bring a few quality players we could have a pretty good team imo
