Hold your horses, I knew Pat quite well and was as much a football fan - albeit for his home town club. As it should be in my view. He has/had no bias against us whatsoever.

I do remember when it was suggested Hull City could get some assistance from the council as City were in danger of going under Pat Doyle responding with "sport plays no part in my agenda". When Lloyd was prattling about moving FC to groundshare with Leicester Tigers he declared he would move heaven and earth to keep them in Hull. Rugby fans were consulted farmorezbout tbe design of tbe KC which is why it ended up so badly done you couldn't have minimum segregation like other clubs with similar stadiums. Saving FC, which were in dire straits at the time was the driving force for many on the council.

What does ‘arrived here illegally’ mean?

There’s no law against arriving in the UK and applying for asylum, whatever route you’ve used to travel, so doing so can’t be illegal, whichever way you look at it.

Those in Royal Hotel are people seeking asylum, which means be definition they have arrived and applied for asylum which they have every legal right to do. Therefore they haven’t done anything illegal.

Whether the UK Govt grants them asylum or not, and the length of time it takes them to decide one way or another, is an entirely different matter (and although I don’t know much it seems to take longer than you might hope, for all concerned)

So no…there are no ‘illegal immigrants’ in Royal Hotel, and there won’t be any in the Dorchester.

Urika raises a fair question around whether having two hotels tied up and unavailable for tourists is good for the City, particularly if the hotels don’t use local staff (Royal does, but I wasn’t aware Dorchester might not) and assuming all the other hotels are struggling to take the number of guests it would be a bad thing for the economy on balance. I doubt that is the case at the moment but it may be in the future I suppose.

Why don't they arrive on a ferry or by Eurostar? A lot cheaper and safer.

My apologies. I've just realised what thread this is. So as hypocritical as it surely makes me, enough of the migrant stuff on here please. It's border line for this board full stop, as we all know where it will end up.

For those that may have missed it. ENOUGH.

I think for everyone’s sake we need to hear something official that outlines where we are at. It doesn’t have to be much but would be good for the rumour mill to be stopped and get some clarity once and for all. Really pisses me off how much of a closed book the EFL are too.

It's no secret where we're at.

It's how much longer that's the question and if Illicali doesn't know exactly when then it's unlikely anyone else does.
