Are Newcastle buying wood to score goals for them or just so he can't score for Burnley?

The hope is that Eddie Howe cannot get his new players to bed in, and Burnley new owner thanks thanks for the £25m for my back pocket Smithy at Norwich never wins a match, and hey presto all relegated

I was really pleased with how Koch dealt with Wood and he even dragged off. The previous match we were bullied about so it was a welcome chage

It seems the money Newcastle have is burning a big hole in somebodies pocket. The laughable headline on BBC was that they didn't have a blank cheque book. Somebody saw them coming if they have splashed £25m on Wood.

Jokes aside i don't think Woods is terrible... he plays in a side that don't create much. Also i think Koch has done pretty well since he returned. Considering I've given him some well deserved flak (well deserved in my opinion!) for his defensive performances previously... i'm hoping he continues to prove me wrong. No Lorrente Sunday so i imagine he'll get the job of dealing with antonio.. the king of backing in and rolling centre halves. Be a good test.

he had a release clause (i believe it could only be activated in the summer... but i guess the chairman though they'd take the money because no one else would pay it. From Newcastles perspective - the money doesn't matter. They have a guy who knows the league and can hold the ball up and make a nuisance of himself while st maximim and joelinton run off him. £25m for a guy his age and his record is a joke but not if it keeps them up whilst their first choice striker is on the sidelines

Wood usually gets double figures every season. He's struggled this season with Burnley not really going beyond the half way line very much. He has 2 or 3 good years in him and 25 million isn't a big deal if it keeps them up. Newcastle have the money and he is ready made to go and play. Same with Trippier. Two really solid signings which improves their squad significantly especially from set pieces.

Trippier from anywhere with the dead ball onto the head of Wood will be a decent weapon

Put another defensive mid in the side and put pressure on him and bowen. Would it work? I have no idea but someone needs to kick the shyte out of them two.

That doesn’t make sense. If you have a release clause then surely the money activates it whatever the window. And if it’s really only in the summer why sell to a relegation rival when going down will cost you at least three times that in lost revenue? And if you knew it was happening where’s the replacement ready to walk in.
