Chris Wood appears to have a release clause, so Newcastle are looking to buy him to further screw Burnley. Probably good news for us if it drops Burnley into more trouble. Chances are Newcastle will buy their way out of trouble whoever they buy, and there's always a chance it doesn't work out.

If they sign him, they're certainly spending for this season rather than the future with the 31 year old Trippier and Wood who's 30. Agreed, but is DH right that they are trying to screw over Burnley? If that's what they are doing, I really hope New Castle get relegated. ( I already did, but now even more so.) £20m is a lot of money.

Considering he never moved his family to the UK, I really thought he'd have wanted a job closer to Germany than that! It's really frustrating when you can't say we haven't tried in the transfer market during the summer, and then you see the performances we've seen basically all season. Even at full strength we've been dysfunctional and lacked fight, and it's hard to say much positive at all about the transfers made.

Gibson was worth the money in terms of helping us get promoted last season but this season I think we have seen why Burnley were happy to let him go. He’s not a starting PL player. Rashica is worth the value but unfortunately hasn’t got the goals and assists stats that I think some of his performances have merited. Sargent and Tzolis are young with latent potential, we will only know in a couple of years whether they are money well spent I feel.
