This is entirely different. In the Chinese case the PL couldn't trace one, and it could have been two, of the Chinese investors therefore the necessary background checks could not be carried out on them. in other words the PL didn't know the where a big slice of the money was coming from.
we had a lucky escape there look at what has happened at Reading since that consortium took over there
So the deal between pappa and acun is done, agreed and signed. That deal has now been sent to the efl for approval even though they have been working with the efl throughout the process. So in theory they are pretty much signing off what they’ve already been involved in to a degree. Is that correct ?
In a nutshell. EFL would be advising on the submissions but it'll be down to how much tweaking required when they get into the small print that will dictate timescale.
Had a long conversation with @HullCity’s new owner-in-waiting @acunilicali. Didn’t want to do a broadcast interview until sale finally signed off but told me he’s confident of it going through. Only his personal feeling & they await any confirmation from the @EFL. Ilicali also says he will be at the MKM Stadium for Sunday’s home game with Stoke City IF the takeover is completed in time. He’s currently back in the Dominican Republic working on a TV project so would need an element of notice for this to be practical. Ilicali also reiterated what he’s said to @bazdjcooper in recent days about his plans for “historic surprises” & also said he “wants to make a community” between the club and its fans. Wants them “to be one family” & that “success is not done by one person”. He added that he has found the Allam family to be very nice to deal with over the last six months. He added they are “tough” business people and that it was “the toughest operation he’s ever done as a company”. If/when the sale is complete, @acunilicali told me he will happily join us at @HumbersideSport & @looknorthBBC for a full interview.
This makes no sense. You are accusing him of being a wind up merchant, then telling him not to listen to himself?
The Turkish Simon Cowell who's here to save Hull: New Tigers owner Acun Ilicali is a millionaire celebrity TV tycoon eager to bring The X Factor back to the club https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/f...mon-Cowell-whos-bring-X-Factor-Hull-City.html "Acun Ilicali has only just settled on the white leather sofa in the 10th-floor lounge of the Four Seasons Hotel in London when he suddenly bursts into song. 'We're singing for England… En-ger-land!' chants the incoming owner of Hull City. 'Catch me if you can, 'cause I'm the England man!'" "'I am dreaming of making a revolution in football history by taking the fans inside the game. I want to get the fans involved in the club like no club has done before in world football.'" Maybe an insight into what he was talking about with Baz the other day... Hull City Reality TV?
