Not sure that I'm enthused by this though..........

    Any other thoughts?

Can't see him being better than what we already have... but if he brings something new to the team, and scores the goals, then not going to complain!

78 starts, 109 substitute appearances, scoring 36 goals, in a 8 year career!

Seriously under whelmed but if he can find the net for us , hopefully he still has a little pace left in the tank!

So, if he keeps up his average, we can expect 1.5 goals before he goes back to Swansea.

Now I'm even less enthused :(

When I read this I was hoping it was a typo, either James Beattie or Craig Bellemy.
Lets hope he can fire in some goals as we need someone who can.

Lots of average strikers, could do with a defender if Taylor is out for long

I was hoping it might end up being James Beattie, but i am wrong!

Very disappointed with this, 7 goals in 45 games is shocking for a striker!! Even Tiny did better than that last season!!

    I don't make typos

Chris Iwelumo = target man = no service = 1 goal
Craig Beattie = target man = no service = ______ (you fill in the blank!) :(

Was with us (Celtic) in his early days , the most injury prone striker I've ever known , if he could play ten games on the trot he would be ok , but you'll never even get two games out of him before he breaks down

Who is behind all these signings? He is about as quick as a milk float going uphill and has a goal ratio of 1 in 7. Maybe he will fire at his 6th club in this league???

He did score a quality goal at Ipswich though.

I can only imagine he will share big man duties with Iwelumo who is struggling to complete 90 mins and then Garner can come of the bench for Sordell, Deeney will only ever play out wide and Massey will get farmed out again.

    Unimpressed.

Why not give Matty Whichelow or Sean Massey a chance? Will Michael Kightley be sent back with his injury?

Because they have quality and the clueless one hasnt. Surely this the worst signing yet. Remember when we got exciting youth talent now we get dregs

Nothing against Beattie or Kightly per se but neither are what we need. I am confident we will get goals from our strikers if they're given the service, which is why a creative midfielder, if there are any available on a loan, would be best.

i agree Barry...that would be best, but we do need a striker too, just perhaps not this one!
