What happens to people that go in to hospital with other ailments, and contract covid through exposure in the hospital? Should they then be turfed out if they chose other ways than the vax to stay safe? Charging is a ridiculous argument, which is why it is extremely unlikely to ever be put in place.
People don’t get admitted to hospital with obesity or smoking. They are admitted for diseases related to these things. It would be almost impossible to prove that there wasn’t secondary medical conditions that can be attributed to obesity or cause people to smoke. It would then need to be proved that the obesity, or smoking, alone is the cause of any illness or disease that needs treating. Covid on the other hand. Take the Vaccs. I predict that sometime in the future life insurers will not pay out for unvaccinated people who have died of covid.
People don’t get admitted to hospital for ‘being unvaccinated’ either. They get admitted for COVID and vaccination can be a factor in them being hospitalised, but it isn’t the direct cause using your own logic. I get it, you don’t want your taxes going towards the treatment of the unvaxxed and think they should pay for themselves out of pocket. On the flip side, many people wouldn’t want their taxes going towards your treatment should you be hospitalised due to your unhealthy overeating. You don’t have to like it, but healthcare free at the point of use is exactly that, and a system which discriminates on who receives treatment or has to pay out of pocket due to prior medical conditions that are partly caused by choice is essentially a de facto insurance system. I prefer to keep it free at the point of use for everyone regardless.
Many incorrect assumptions about my thoughts, principles & eating habits (probably got to that conclusion based on the ignorant ramblings of idiots off here). How will you prove any disease is caused solely by overeating? If they’re making frontline NHS staff be vaccinated then they should only be treating vaccinated people. It’s that simple. Why should people have treatment put on hold so unvaccinated people can be treated for something that was avoidable? Why should people miss out on hospital visits because the hospital has placed restrictions based on the number of unvaccinated people they’re treating? Why should vaccinated people have their lives disrupted because selfish people refuse to have a safe vaccine. I understand how the NHS works, I don’t need an explanation. Unless there’s a medical reason for you not to have the vaccination then you have a moral obligation to have it, to protect others as well as yourself. You also have the choice. The consequences of choosing not to have it should be exclusion from specific areas of society. My view, like it or lump it.
You might not like it, but here I agree with you. My neighbour's son is having serious repercussions from follow up appointments and investigations being cancelled and what would have been quite serious has become extremely serious with a lot of unpleasant consequences for him and his family. The delays were caused by beds being full when a lot of them wouldn't have been there if they had been vaxxed as they wouldn't have been so ill.
Forgive my ignorance(charts,graphs etc don't register too well with me,no shame in admitting it) but I'm compelled to ask,is this pointing to those unvaccinated being less prone to catching it/testing positive?
I'm not 100% certain if it was this report, but I think the charts got criticised by those overseeing such things for using a logarithmic, rather than linear axis, as that supported the narrative better. I guess it highlights the need to be careful when looking at any data.
