I would play him in CM as a Dembele on E.
See how many defenders bounce off him and the gap
he clears for the attackers around the box, give them the ball,

I have no idea (i.e. I forgot) who came up with the £200k figure, but numerous sources have long established it's £120k

It might be £200k with bonuses, but it's safe to assume he hasn't come close to triggering those

I'm sue that Levy will get credit for saving us £80k a week on the world's slowest Roomba

Most sources do have it down as £200k.

    Unfortunately :(

Edit: whether it’s £200k or £120k though, we’ll probably have to subsidise some of it to whoever wants him, he’s on too much either way and no one else is gonna be dumb like us giving him that.

Newcastle are easy to improve and they're vastly overspending on wages, by all accounts.
They don't care about money because they're being run by a murderous dictatorship.
    There's absolutely no comparison.

As far as the possibility of doing meaningful transfers in January and paying sums we can afford regardless of wether Toon are over paying or not.

I think the numbers being played with can be compared tbh…both players cost around 20 mill each…they won’t be getting over 120k a week each…I could be wrong on that but I’d hedge the bet…well within our means. Not saying we wanted them 2 but there’s first team ready out there if we are smart enough and first team ready is what we need.

Trippier is 31, wouldn't suit Conte's wingback system and wanted a move up North.
Wood is more debatable, but he's joining to start regularly and he's been poor this season.

Can we sign players? Yes. I doubt we'll sign anyone decent in this window, though.
Is that good enough? No, but I can't see teams taking big risks in the current environment.

It's the lack of intent that's really ****ed me off, mind you, the lack of ambition with our targets isn't too great either.

10 days into the window we have our meeting to discuss who Conte wants. Thus for the first 10 days (now into its 12th), we basically had no intention to sign a player, this despite it being a huge window for us if Conte is going to deliver on an outside chance of reaching the top four.

We don't even seem close to signing someone either and the only one who's been extensively linked is a player that can't even get into the Wolves XI on a regular basis this season and thus far has zero goals and zero assists to his name.

Big Six club? We're having a laugh.

Chris Wood would be a decent back up for Kane, however at 30 I'm sure he would want regular first team football. Trippier is an interesting one, he is good defensively and has great delivery which is something Emerson lacks. I'm assuming that Levy would prefer someone younger and I expect he's on huge money at Newcastle.

Interesting watch this. Lyall Thomas sheds some light on this window.

    Highlights include...
Ndombele is unlikely to leave this window.
Vlahovic is definitely gonna wait until summer before deciding, he wants to play for a CL club, whomever makes top four has a good chance of signing him.

I think outside of striker there’s little point buying someone who is ‘just a body’ to flesh the squad out. It’s important we get things right in terms of identifying who should be shown the door and making sure we get the right targets who can actually improve the squad. Conte himself asked to postpone the meeting to early January vs early December it seems, in order to get things right.

The only move that’s actually happened so far that I think would have improved us is Tripper heading to Newcastle, and it’s clear why that wouldn’t have happened from our side and his.

Newcastle are signing players to stay up

Our level's been above that since the days of Christian Gross

Ajax are selling David Neres to Shakhtar Donetsk to free up funs/a place in the squad, which is interesting considering 3-4 years ago Neres was habitually linked with us

Don't suppose Shakhtar fancy signing a central midfielder this month? If we start negotiations now, he might make it to the check-in desk by the end of the month...

Trippier lost his place in Atleti's starting lineup this season to Marcos Llorente, while Chris Wood is somebody we've only ever spoken of on here as backup rather than a starter

That's one player who was a has-been and one whose level as a starter is the lower third of the Premier League

    **** Off Ndombele Watch
The Daily Wail are sticking with Roma looking to sign him with a loan-to-buy option on the table

Don't make it an 18-month loan, their current manager will doubtless be sacked before the end of that...
