Good Morning. It's Wednesday 12th January, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road

Cardiff City win race for Drameh loan move

Cardiff City have won the race to take Cody Drameh on loan for the rest of the season. The 20yo right was in high demand, with Nottingham Forest and Swansea City also credited with interest. Leeds were not keen to see the former Fulham starlet leave, but after talks with his agent agreed to their request that first team football would be in his best interest. He will undergo a medical this morning, and is set to play against Blackburn Rovers at the weekend. Leeds have made it very clear that Drameh is not for sale, and is seen as the long term successor to Luke Ayling.

Leeds fans hoping for an Elland Road Covid outbreak

As things stand, Leeds will be without twelve players for their second visit of the week to the London Stadium. They have only eight senior outfield players fit (Luke Ayling, Adam Forshaw, Robin Koch, Raphinha, Stuart Dallas, Daniel James, Jack Harrison and Mateusz Klich). Should anyone register positive for Covid, it would mean they would be within their rights to have the game called off.

Premier League rules state that clubs may request a postponement if they cannot field one goalkeeper and 13 outfield players, but only if Covid has contributed. The club intervened last month when a covid outbreak hit Elland Road, and successfully swerved the visit to Anfield and the visit of Aston Villa.

Patrick Bamford and Rodrigo are both battling to be fit for Sunday's game, but in all likelihood, they'd be doing well if they made the bench.

I had to try and reset myself - Harrison

Speaking on Soccer AM, Leeds winger Jack Harrison has admitted to a drop in form this season, but has listed Covid and a variety of niggles as the answer as to why the 25yo has not managed to replicate his performances of last season. In 14 league appearances, he has registered 1 goal, and one assist, and has a disappointing overall rating of 6.41 this term. In comparison, the former Citeh ace registered 8 assists, and 8 goals last season, and a respectable 6.96 score.

"I've been working really hard all season, I think I've been unfortunate with injuries, I had COVID and just being out with one thing and the other - I'm hoping to get some more [goals] from here on out.

"You start questioning all the things that have worked for you in the past and you start to question 'should I continue doing this?' because I like to do a lot of extra work as well, and I started thinking maybe this is a bit more detrimental.

"I had to try and reset myself, think outside of the box and try to find those things that do work for me 100% and continue doing them." "You just have to stick to what you know is right and eventually it'll turn in your favour."

Morning so Draneh has gone when we needed him leaving us short. Brilliant and we want him for next season and he's not for sale?. He has crapped on us and Bielsa only likes team players. Drameh if he gets offfers should be sold as he is a turncoat

Can’t understand why Liverpool, with their massive squad, manage to get their games called off, and Leeds, with the smallest squad in the division and so many injuries, don’t.

Drameh reminds me of Lee Peltier, who also went to Cardiff, and who was, like Drameh, a very mediocre fullback bordering on crap.

    Need better.

Morning all another day and anorher player short (drameh). So what do we do hope for some positive covid tests or just carry on?. Well for me just carry on and see what happens. Will others go out on loan at their own request and leave us in the schitt. If summerville is off to Rangers and greenwood leaves too then we will know they are for sale. All this talk about they are the future is total bullcrap. Remember Rads has stated we would develop players to sell on and orta, was instructed to get them in for u23s. The only ones i would keep are joffy and heljde & creswell. Use the money we save to buy some decent fullbacks.
Come the close season i think players of value will be sold. So that's kalvin.. Raph.. Rodrigo (please sell him).
I expect no signing this window except maybe a loan for midfield. But would Bielsa use him?.
Unless the 49ers investment group pile some cash in like Newcastles new owners it's sell sell sell.

I've a feeling we will get a striker on loan.

I also think we will get a stop gap midfielder like Swift. I don't think it will be Swift but someone similar.

It sounds like the war chest is around 15 million. Offloading Dramah and maybe a couple of others on loan might release the finances (wages and loan fees) to get that war chest up a bit.

I'm happy to wait and see what the club are going to do. Radz has mostly got his decisions right so far. I'd be shocked if Greenwood, Summerville, Dramah all went out on loan and we got nobody in.

Looks like Villa spending very big to avoid relegation fight this season, more players coming in on top of Cutinho
Newcastle and Everton spending big too, Watford have done one deal so far too

He is decent. Just maybe needs a bit more confidence which should come from playing games at a lower level or looking at Cardiff, a much much lower level.

He looked like a footballer in the 23s and (understandably) a rabbit in the headlights in the first team to me. Unlike others who think it leaves us lacking in cover, I don’t think we can risk playing him.

Games in a lower pressure environment but still ‘man’s football’ will be good for him… and for us it helps show whether he has the ability to step up and as importantly, the temperament… He might look great in murderball amongst friends, but the real thing is different.

good move all round in my view

Let's be honest about this, he's been brought in to keep us out of League One, not to pull up any trees.

Having said that, he would have gone to Swansea but he objected to living in a caravan.......<laugh>
