More partygate scandal again https://news.sky.com/story/amp/down...g-nowhere-despite-latest-allegations-12513632 Some people may think there are more important things for the press to publish than a drinks party during lockdown. Others, who were banned from seeing their loved ones over Christmas - especially elderly relatives who died during the lockdown whilst they dutifully complied with the rules will think differently. For me this is yet another episode in this character’s cheating, lying, sneaking political career and underlines the type of slimy character he is. If the Tories want to recover any credibility they need to replace him - people are finally realising what I have known since day 1; Boris Johnson cannot be trusted and if his lips move he’s lying - and I can’t see ANYONE obeying another lockdown rule if it ever happens. I don’t like Starmer either but the way things are going KS will be the next prime minister and BJ will have himself to blame. What an utter utter incompetent and conceited twat.
there is no news at the moment that interests the media [ other than positive stuff ] so grasping at anything ... A tsunami in the pacific heading for Asia Japan Australia TIDAL WAVE OF 100 FT or a 500m asteroid heading for earth will pass within earth moon orbits ... hopefully calculations are correct .. but could hit earth but unsure where .. double whammy would be the ATLANTC OCEAN ... wouldnt get no garden parties insinuations then!
He knows if he was there or not, he doesn’t need an enquiry to tell him. He should either admit he was there and do the honourable thing and resign or just say I wasn’t there.
JUST actually read the drawn out SKY REPORT. I feel very sad that the covid virus in the early days had a separate underlying agenda, and that was to infect the relatives of the opposition party. TOUCHING WOOD no one in my family died of it and only those who have children suffered from it. My son in law caught it from grandson or from his job in the protectedessential group of jobs. My wife worked in care home at time and whilst residents didnt escape from it all the staff did. The rules of first lockdown :- England was in national lockdown between late March and June 2020. Intitally, all “non-essential” high street businesses were closed and people were ordered to stay at home, permitted to leave for essential purposes only, such as buying food or for medical reasons. Starting in May 2020, the laws were slowly relaxed. People were permitted to leave home for outdoor recreation (beyond exercise) from 13 May. Our normal group began meeting for walks on 14th May 2 of us [ 2m plus mask ] after 15th as 5 or 6 [2m apart with masks.] On 15th May, Keynsham park had at least 3 -5 groups of teenagers with more than 10 in them [ I keep a log of all my walks etc! ] On 1 June, the restriction on leaving home was replaced with a requirement to be home overnight, and people were permitted to meet outside in groups of up to six people. [ We went to a friends house with a couple of bottles and sat well spaced in his garden ] Most lockdown restrictions were lifted on 4 July 2020. Most hospitality businesses were permitted to reopen. New health and safety guidance on operating businesses “Covid securely” was published. Gatherings up to thirty people were legally permitted, although the Government was still recommending people avoid gatherings larger than six. ..... We tried the pub, but whilst massive outdoor garden and well spaced antics of drunken teenagers had us revert back to garden.
I think we are in a minority here - possibly with BCFCRob - but I’ve hated the **** from day 1. Some people see a loveable teddy bear, a harmless buffoon, a Brexit champion (forgetting he was first a Remainer - SACKED by the Daily Telegraph for LYING!!!) and possibly even (laughably) a Winston Churchill character. I see at best an incompetent clown and at worst a lying scheming ruthless individual who doesn’t give a flying **** about anything than himself and power - not even his party, his country and in particular the people - and is willing to scheme, wriggle, lie, U-turn and do anything in order to get it. he’s a dictator type who should not be anywhere near power in our western democracy where politicians are supposed to serve the people
Meanwhile, Sir Keir Starmer has told the PM to "stop lying" and "come clean" about the "bring your own booze" event reportedly held on 20 May 2020.Accusing the PM of "deflections and distractions", the Labour leader called on Mr Johnson to be honest with the British public about the event which Sky News understands both the PM and his then fiancée attended..... from 13th able to meet outdoors? ITV news what a terribly cobbled together cover of the "event" they had a person slamming Boris having a party in his very spacious garden whilst they couldnt go into the hospital to say cheerio to their mum who died, she died in April ..Another sat in his car as close as he could but later than 13th May..!!! the lockdown was multi faceted, it had layers and those layers were designed to protect all and sundry. A lot of the layers over lapped 1 main one was to protect the NHS people in care and essential emergency services. The understanding of the disease was in its infancy and rules tried to second guess the best routes to be best bets. No visits to hospitals... sound reasoning, people inside could give to visitor or visitor could take it in. Even more true on wards that were not covid or ICU's. No visits to care homes ... where a number of the people who were interviewed by ITV or were related to [ mostly opposition ] MP's [ irrespective of whether dates coincided ] As stated my wife worked in care home how irresponsible to allow people from outside to put at risk the frail residents within. Humans are unique, we have evolved to where we are, and non of us are really equal! we get ill and die... others get ill and survive others are surrounded by the ill and dont get it and therefore dont die! How unfair is that? We have learned to make sacrifices 000's in the last 2 wars[ actually 000,000's ] some stand strong, others find it hard. Along with millions of others who likely did as we did after 13th May when rules were relaxed, actually feel guilty??? I dont, mother in law died, about 10 went to funeral about 8 weeks after she passed, we couldnt say goodbye! in July 2021 we had her wake, about 100 turned up. I had 3 mates die, non covid usually would have been funeral of 100 or so less than 10 went, we didnt bemoan it, it was what happened, it was not covid killed them, Covid was the circumstance.
One of the most Tory papers of all are turning on him. I can’t see him hanging on in there much longer. Boris's worst scandals and controversies as he faces partygate furore https://mol.im/a/10390811
Do you mean Redprintt? I think RP himself would agree that we are not very much alike - one of the few things we can agree on!!!
Pundits reckon he will survive until the local elections in May If the Tories get a bloody nose at those, and most opinion polls suggest that they will, then they may get a new leader. Personally, aside from getting a broken version of Brexit over the line, which Teresa May failed to do, and a slick vaccine roll out compared to the EU and others, it's just been lie after lie, weak leadership and concentrating on things that should be on the back burner for now. Top of his 'to do' list now should be Illegal Immigration and dealing forcefully with the unhelpful French The Northern Ireland protocol Fishing rights Energy costs and making good decisions over renewal and self sufficiency. Taxation Sod, wind power, net zero and all that other nonsense
Green energy isn’t nonsense it’s the way forward, both in terms of the planet, but also industry and jobs. It’ll also stop us being reliant on imported energy.
I agree with this, but we have to transcend in a controlled way with minimum pain, or it will COST industry and jobs - then there would be no money to pay for the transformation. I'd love to see the day when we don't rely on carbon fuels - especially Russian gas, However, for example I'm not convinced that the mass production of lithium battery-powered vehicles is better for the environment than continuing to run our current combustion-driven cars. I read somewhere that the manufacture of ONE Tesla car creates the equivalent in carbon emissions to a 2.0L diesel engine running continuously for 2 years.
I agree, Obviously it has to be done on a sustainable way, all the more reason to invest in R&D not ignore it and carry on as we are.
I wasn't suggesting shelving it permanently. I meant the Government should have much higher priorities right now, especially when the Chinese (in particular), Germans and Russians operate massive coal fuelled power stations and continue to open new ones. We emit just 1% of the worlds Co2 and that figure is falling. I'm all for rewilding, protecting green and brown spaces, planting new trees and saplings, but part of that is not building tens of thousands of new houses and miles of new roads because our population is bulging, often with non British people.
It’s ok, Boris didn’t know it was a party he only popped out for one drink as he was working (said that to my wife many times, coming in 6 hours later)
All those need to be dealt with too, but green energy should be right at the top of our priorities. We need to be at the forefront of this it’s the future. If we can establish ourselves as a main player it will drive industry and economic well being potentially for decades to come.
