Players like Kane, Vardy and Cavani all know how to play the VAR system, so now it's moved cheating to whole new level. If you have a player standing a few feet behind you, just turn and run in to him, nailed on penalty everytime with VAR, even if the ref don't see it, even if it had no impact on the goal whatsoever, those players know to just go for it, nothing ventured nothing gained rules.

Players were aiming the ball towards defenders arms to get penalties about 3 years ago

Refs are always buying some form of cheating or another

    Nothing wrong with that.

One of the defenders looked at Mbappe in the wrong way in the build up so VAR would have awarded a pen anyway.

When an attacker pushes a ball passed a defender and a defender moves across to block the players run it's pretty much a nailed on yellow card every time, this was exactly the same. Ramsey, miles offside, moved right twice to make sure he blocked Cavani's run, it was so ****ing obvious what he did I can't understand why people are claiming its wrong. Totally agree on Kane though, should've got red cards instead of penalties on numerous occasions.

I quite like Cavani as a player, but he knows how to milk the best of a situation, in fact he has it off to a fine art.

Now let's say I agree with you for a second, that he was obstructed, no one saw it but VAR, a system that was not used in the majority of the games, I very much doubt many people even saw the obstruction, as they were looking for the offside or some other rule that would disallow the goal...and there is the problem for me, instead of clear and obvious, ok you may of seen it, but I don't believe the ref did, we are now knife and forking every goal, to find something wrong, rather than actually attempting to give the goal.

As soon as the ref walked over to the monitor, we all knew what the outcome was going to be, VAR was never introduced for decisions like this, well I don't believe so, it's just fooking up the game, and what could have been a classic finish, ET and penalties, but all spoilt, because we want to play by the rules, when in reality we know most players don't. It was cheating by Cavani, he knew what he was doing - he's not even a defender ffs. I'm sure you would feel the same if Aston Villa had happened to have been West Ham.

I don't think Cavani was getting anywhere near that ball, so the goal should have stood.

The problem otherwise is that you're going to get defenders (I know cavani is a forward but he was defending) running into oppo players, going down like a sack of **** and then claiming that they were fouled.

For me, if a player is obstructed, then he needs to be directly involved in the passage of play in order for it to be taken into account.

One of (the many) problems with VAR is that players now know that any slight infraction in the build up to a goal might result in it getting chalked off and there will be some who will try and milk it to gain an advantage.

We all saw the game mate, how long do you reckon it took to come to the decision to disallow the goal, it seemed an eternity as if they were looking for so many different infringements, so even if ERN is correct and it was rightly disallowed, it was the length of time it took to come to that decision, is that what we really want in the game?

I can think of so many decisions with the Man City keeper where he's taken players out, and nothing has been given, but Cavani runs into a brick wall and the stupid shhite bounces off like a pin ball. Players now will be looking to replicate that move to get more goals disallowed, VAR will end up being used more and more, how many penalties are winning games now, it's now coming down to who is the best diver in the box competition, fook the actual football.

It certainly won't be the last time now that we see that type of Cavani move in the art of defending as a striker.

Exactly mate. Said on the thread during the game, they were looking for anything to rule that goal out. First it was whether Ings was offside, then it was whether Ingz had handballed it, then when they couldn't find anything, they decided to look for something else ffs.

So it defo wasn't clear and obvious.

As for Man City, they got away with murder against us. Ederson takes Odergaard out in that game and VAR doesn't even bother to get the ref to come and have a look at it. But when Silva dives, they call the ref over and because Xhaka has got hold of his shirt (even though that wasn't why he threw himself to the floor) he gives a pen. They are either both pens or neither are pens. If anything, the foul on Odergaard is more obvious.

As you say, it's starting to come down to who can con the ref and VAR the best, players know that if they bump into somebody or wrap their leg around another player's leg, then VAR will look at it and rule for an infringement.

What was supposed to clean up the game and make it fairer is actually ****ing it up and producing some truly baffling decisions. It's ruining the game imo and the authorities should **** it clean off.

That bit in bold, that is exactly what VAR is for, to see what the ref has missed.
If Ramsey had done anything other than have his eyes firmly on Cavani and move the way he did, I'd agree with you, but it was so ****ing blatant I find it ridiculous people are arguing against it. As for Piskie's argument that "Cavani wouldn't have got the ball" it's a non-starter, there's no way to tell, but the outcome of it was that the player he was tracking, who he was goal-side of, had a completely uncontested header and his assist was completely unobstructed.

Senegal have a very easy group and won their first game, so they should qualify comfortably.
Egypt have played ****, so far. Their other two games are Guinea and Sudan, though.
Should get through, even if they lose this one.
