just a little bit of silly whimsy for anybody that knows there 1980s - early 90s f1 history

the person in question was an exceptional driver in the wet , that also excelled and enjoyed such conditions ,
for me his talents in the wet /changeable conditions went mainly unnoticed thruout his f1 career but make no mistake he was in my opinion outstanding in tricky conditions but ironically only won a single wet race in his long F1 career ,

he was active thruout the 80s - early 90s - who was he and which race was it --

    Nigel Mansell - Spain 91?

Or do we need to go back further in the archives for the actual race win?

    Jean Alesi?

EDIT - Ignore that, I see his win was in the dry. I'll have a think and be back soon.

Let me make a couple of uneducated guesses... Prost? Piquet? though I don't recall the latter ever being praised for his skills in the wet...

that name brings back a few memories -- sadly he died about 9 or 10 yrs ago or whatever it was ,
---- fraid to say he was nothing to write home about in the wet ---

If anyone wants a statistic website you cant go wrong with http://www.statsf1.com/en/statistiques/pilote/victoire/nombre.aspx

Using it i can tell you that the following drivers won a race between 1980 and 1993.

    1 PROST Alain 51
    2 SENNA Ayrton 41
    3 MANSELL Nigel 30
    4 PIQUET Nelson 23
    5 LAUDA Niki 8
    6 BERGER Gerhard 8
    7 JONES Alan 7
    8 ARNOUX René 7
    9 PATRESE Riccardo 6
    10 ALBORETO Michele 5
    11 ROSBERG Keke 5
    12 WATSON John 4
    13 REUTEMANN Carlos 3
    14 LAFFITE Jacques 3
    15 PIRONI Didier 3
    16 BOUTSEN Thierry 3
    17 HILL Damon 3
    18 VILLENEUVE Gilles 2
    19 TAMBAY Patrick 2
    20 De ANGELIS Elio 2
    21 SCHUMACHER Michael 2
    22 JABOUILLE Jean-Pierre 1
    23 NANNINI Alessandro 1

Some obviously wrong answers there but im sure someone with more knowlege can find the answer from that list.
