English or welsh it seems as Swansea Cardiff have to be included as well, but yeah NI and Scotland don’t count. Didn’t realise that was case in which case Robbo is one of our 18 foreigners
It is Cardiff and swansea cod they are in the english league. In theory a Fabregas etc are all hg for English clubs
Local news here in the Midlands have stated Shrewsbury are assisting the Police in trying to identify the culprits. Shrewsbury do have a following of right wing scum/hooligans who call themselves the English Border Front. Games with Wrexham have always been the worst. A lot of the EBF follow England as well and you often see names of arrested English hooligans and their addresses are Shrewsbury. I would not be surprised to find members of the EBF were responsible for the obnoxious chants/songs.
Shrewsbury Town has issued an official club statement condemning it. Good for them. We just need Leicester etc to do the same. In other news Cardiff fan group has taken to Twitter already to warn their fans about doing the same.
It says a lot about a club when you have to start reminding your fans not to be scum so far in advance of the fixture.
Police? For singing distateful and nasty songs/chants? Club issue to ban the twats, I see that... But is it really a police issue?
A hate crime? For being a twat? Does that carry online too? Is that why the United board is so quiet now, they're all in jail? I have noticed that the unreasonable and more nasty posters seem to have left and the more reasonable ones remain? Doesn't really sit right with me. I knew people could be charged with saying racist things over there (which whereas I oppose racism, I've always thought that rather unsettling). Didn't realise it was now a hate crime to just say offensive things in general. How do people get away with "five German bombers?" nowadays, or is that a hate crime too?
Well if you've ever sat in anfield and heard a lone voice shout justice to be joined by thousands for 30 years you'd think it a hate crime too.
No offense lads but.... there's what people away from it might say and there's those who still live with it and as weak as it sounds I'm only saying it for those who probably wouldn't.
Don’t get me wrong. I know that I can’t understand what the families went/going through etc and def not trying to suggest that singing about it is ok, but just not sure what makes it a police matter.
Don't care whether it's law or not, they deserve a bat at to the head! And I'd say exactly the same if we were talking about Liverpool fans singing Munich songs too!
Those chants come under hate crime in sport. Any fans who don't know the difference between those kind of chants and banter, shouldn't be anywhere near a stadium. Apparently one of the Shrewsbury fans got punched in the face by one of his own, so hard his glasses flew off. I don't condone or advocate violence but fans self policing is a good start, maybe turning them over to a steward rather than punching though.
