Winks put in some good corners , it's got to the point where I drift off when we get free kicks and corners as the tedium of Kane hitting the wall or our corners going to the 1st man tires me out but yesterday Winks put in some good corners from the left and of course the nice inswinger for the 1st goal
No wonder Ndombele is knackered before the game due to the distance from the dressing room to the pitch
I'm not sure if it's already been said on this thread but how bad was Gollini yesterday , just watched MOTD and noticed how gollini made to go for ball that led to the corner they scored from but backed out , Rodon could be seen having a go at him and then once more he made to go for the cross only to back out The defence was cobbled together but they look like they have no confidence in him
There’s rumours that he’s a really popular guy around the place and well liked but it has to be said he’s not looked overly great since joining. I fully appreciate it’s tough for backup keepers to play well when they play about once every 5 weeks (if that) and when they’re playing with a bunch of defenders that don’t play much together either it’s not easy, but Gazzaniga and Vorm (prior to his final year or so) were able to put in decent performances in Lloris’ absence. It’s tough to see us making Gollini’s move permanent at the moment to be honest. I think, or to put it better if I were in the club’s shoes, I’d let Gollini go back to Atalanta at the end of the season, look at securing Johnstone in the summer for free, tie Lloris to a new deal and then spend the 22/23 season scouting Lloris’ potential long term heir or seeing if Johnstone was good enough in his games to take over.
Interesting piece from Dan KP in today's Standard about the players holding an inquest in the dressing room at half time yesterday, which Winksy has confirmed took place https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/tottenham-morecambe-harry-winks-b975830.html I like to think Dier and Romero were sat to one side giving Ndombele heavy side eye even then
I like Dan KP but that feels like a proper clickbait title. All Winks says is that harsh and honest words were said, which I bet probably came primarily from Conte. I'd imagine there's been a lot of harsh and honest words said over the last couple years come to think of it.
I think both he and Skipp say something, albeit we only see the back of Skipp’s head but looks like he turns in Ndombele’s direction. Looks like Harry says “come on” though can’t be sure, also ushers him with his left hand in the direction off the pitch. Any lip readers on here?
And they've played 1 game to City's 4. 1-0, 2-0, 2-0, 1-0. Pretty odd, given their standard in those seasons.
