Frankelâs 2yo full brother NOBLE MISSION has received his first entries, in an 8f maiden at Yarmouth on 25 October and also in an 8f maiden at Nottingham on 26 October. Although he is believed to have been working well, the colt has taken time to come to hand. Sir Henry told the Racing Post âHe is still a bit of a baby really in that when he hits the front in his work he looks about. Unlike Frankel, I wouldnât say he is a good thing when he runs by any stretch of the imagination. We are just hoping he can run a nice first race and then be put away for next year.â Interestingly, the same maiden at Yarmouth was the beginning of something special for another horse 13 years ago, when DUBAI MILLENNIUM trounced his rivals by 5 lengths on his racecourse debut. Might it be the launching pad for another superstar? Who knows, we can but dream!
Wasn’t the Yarmouth maiden also won by Noble Mission’s half-brother, Bullet Train, a couple of years ago??? 33/1 for the Derby at the minute. Will be interesting to see if Noble Mission attracts any support for that race in the hours leading up to his debut.
I cannot see that he is going to run in the Derby, when his breeding is identical to Frankel's. From what ive heard Noble Mission is nothing special, so it will be interesting to see what price he goes off at on debut. He could be worth laying, if mug punters get carried away with the fact he's Frankel's brother
Here is a video of noble mission working on the gallops: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rT5QMa7txIA Strange that he works in blinkers.
It does not seem very likely that two brothers would both turn out to be superstar milers in consecutive seasons, although it would be a fascinating dilemma for Sir Henry keeping them apart next season. As I do not think that Frankel would stay a mile-and-a-half, the same applies to his full brother, so I would not be getting involved in the Derby ante-post market. Naturally Noble Mission is going to attract considerable interest from day one because of Frankel, so they might want to leave the blinkers on so that he does not spend all his time showing off to the crowds rather than their more probable use to make sure that he concentrates on the job at hand instead of looking about.
PN is it Fanshawe who is the other trainer who really likes using hoods for training? Think I read a piece on it at one point (perhaps it was a Hugh Taylor titbit on twitter?)
His debut will no doubt be the cover story on the racing post, particularly if he runs on a weekday. This will result in alot of money being wagered on him. I'm sure the layers will be keen to take him on though, I certainly would be
He's been declared for tomorrow. The race has divided and he goes in Div I at 2.30pm http://www.racingpost.com/horses2/cards/card.sd?race_id=540467&r_date=2011-10-25#raceTabs=sc_
That is a slightly uninformed statement, plenty of good horses have made their debuts at Yarmouth. It is a favourite track for Newmarket trainers to send their 2yos to.
A very uninformed statement given that this thread establishes both Bullet Train and Dubai Millenium not only made their debuts at Yarmouth but actually made their debuts in this very race!!
