More surprised that no one has sued Elvis estate (they may have in a settled case) about the revelation that he had bedrooms at his gaff set up so he could watch people have sex. Maybe they knew and it was a win-win.
Hasn't there been another set of prosecutions on this? 'New' news tends to make headlines, repeat stuff tends not to.

Indeed at the time the 23-year-old Jerry Lee Lewis married third cousin, Myra Gale Brown, there was no reason for her to think anything was wrong with the relationship. After all Elvis Presley, the biggest rock star in the world, was dating a 14-year-old Priscilla Beaulieu, who would later become his wife. For a man from his time and place, Lee's marrying someone of the age 13 and marrying one's third cousin were both fairly commonplace, although Lewis further complicated matters by again marrying before the divorce from his second wife was final. As for the legalities, some places still had the rules and laws in place from when people did get married and had children at around 14-years of age, puberty basically made one an adult ready for marriage. This had been the way things were in the world much longer that the eventual rear her random choice of what is an adult. Of course life was a considerably shorter run back then as well. Though he'd been warned against taking Myra with him to England on his first European tour Lewis didn't seem to realize that this relationship was offensive to most urban markets as well as to other countries. He told the British press that Myra was his wife - although he gave her age as 15 and moved up the date of their actual wedding. For her part, Myra his bride, told the gathering that 15 wasn't too young to marry back home: "You can marry at 10 if you can find a husband." At one point Jerry Lee and Myra lived with her parents in their home. Well, the British press began labeling Lewis, a "cradle robber" and a "baby snatcher". Papers went so far as to suggest his deportation.... several tour dates were boycotted or canceled... so Jerry and his new wife left the country. However, when he returned to the states he soon found the scandal had crossed the ocean with him, cutting short a career that, at its peak, had seemed like one capable of rivaling Elvis Presley's. It certainly didn't help that his latest single was called "High School Confidential." His appearances, those that weren't cancelled, dropped considerably in pay and his rock star career had been forever crippled by the scandal. Lewis eventually got his career back in the late 1960s as a country performer, where the man's personal life wasn't viewed with such outrage. The couple had two of Lewis' six children but Lewis and Myra eventually divorced in 1970.
They can change the law tomorrow if they like and make it legal to shag a 13 or 14 year old, firstly I have no attraction to this age group and secondly I’d know it still wasn’t right. Just because it’s law or not you can’t judge one bloke shagging a 14 year old and saying it’s okay to do so whilst condemning another. If you like under age girls and you’re 10 years older than them there is only one word for that group of people
There's a book which covers it from 8-10 years ago, with reports from people who were there. Priscilla also touched on it in her book.
I didn’t say it was ok to do so I said it was legal at the time. Nowadays it quite rightly isn’t, although it’s considered normal in some parts of the world where these grooming gangs originate from. Trouble is it’s considered racist to call them out on it. That’s why it’s been allowed to continue.
Just for the record and reading back… I’m not comparing the sexual exploits of Elvis and grooming gangs. I only pop in and out of this thread, I came in and the first post I saw was the Elvis one and the replies
just on that note of calling out, how about calling out the pointless sentences handed down to perpetrators of the grooming gangs one such being the sentence given to one of the leaders of the telford gang who was handed an 18 year immediate sentence and an additional 8 on licence after release.....he has recently been released after serving just 8 years.....
I was brought up in a Irish Catholic family I knew of a local priest who was a nonce and apparently now living in the Vatican being protected I've spoken out many times about the *****s in the Catholic Church, they should be hung with their leader the pope in my opinion . A member puts a post up about something that is happening in this country right now and instead of commenting on that you have to trawl the Internet to find something that may have happened 60 or 70 years ago, but that's your style isn't it, I put a comment about Ray Epps the other day and you had to go looking for something to the contrary, did you know who Ray Epps was until I mentioned him? Would you comment on why the government, police, local authorities allowed many thousands of young girls to be gang raped by a gang for years and is still happening now, why do think they allowed it, why did it take years for them to start prosecuting these animals, what and why prompted them to act, why won't the media report on this scandal like they did with that nonce Jimmy Savile who, by the way they waited till his death to tell us what was common knowledge that he was a *****phile. Do you have a comment?
The man can't defend himself, but in all the books I've read on him I've never read about his obsession with young girls. Personally I couldn't care less because it's his music that I listen to and not the stories.
