Some big fixtures at the bottom of the table before the next set of internationals - could make or break some seasons. Watford (18 played 13 points) - Newcastle, Burnley, Norwich Newcastle (19 played 11 points) - Watford, Leeds ~ possibly Southampton rearranged in here ~ Burnley (17 played 11 points) - Leicester, Watford, Arsenal Norwich (19 played 11 points) - West Ham, Everton, Watford Super tight at the bottom and squeaky bum time! Watford three six-pointers on the spin for them, should be looking for 6-9 points in that run but have lost the last 7 on the bounce so confidence will be low. Newcastle need to beat Watford, will keep the wolf from the door at present and anything against Leeds would be a massive bonus - the southampton game probably in here as well. Burnley have probably the toughest of the runs to the break but will still be the team with a game or two in hand on the rest come the break Norwich currently bottom and a tough run for them - if they can sneak a point or 2 before facing Watford at the end of the month and beat Watford they will keep themselves in the race and possibly off the foot of the table Like I say a huge few weeks at the foot of the table... Scores on the doors...
Watford - will beat us, lose to Burnley, lose to Norwich Newcastle - Lose to Watford, Lose to Leeds, Lose to Southampton Burnley - Lose to Leicester, beat Watford, beat Arsenal Norwich - Lose to West Ham, beat Everton, beat Watford We will then go on some crazy run sweeping all before us and will somehow go down after ****ing up results against opposition we should have beaten.
Think we'll be gone by then mate - It's in the stars. Hope I'm wrong. This is going to be our Karma for crowing about richest club etc. Its so Newcastle its the only thing that CAN happen
Been saying since game week 8/9 I think we are destined for the drop. Need 4/5 more quality signings after Trippier and a run in these next few weeks (6/7 points) to change my mind. Watford (18 played 13 points) - Newcastle (L), Burnley (D), Norwich (W) - 4 points Newcastle (19 played 11 points) - Watford (W), Leeds (D) ~ possibly Southampton rearranged in here ~ (W) - 4 points Burnley (17 played 11 points) - Leicester (L), Watford (D), Arsenal (L) - 1 point Norwich (19 played 11 points) - West Ham (L), Everton (D), Watford (L) - 1 point
I honestly believed we would beat the drop, and as much as the overall performance was no where near as bad as some on here would have you believe, the result was ****ing disgrace and they are fully justified in that thought process. My belief we could stay up was on the proviso we got at least a couple of cm's a couple of cb's and a couple of strikers in. I never for one minute thought rb was the ****ing priority - only way that made sense was as a first of many statement signings - I hate to say it but I think it's been ****ed up.
I'd have felt better if Brentford, Brighton and So'ton were closer to us. Even Leeds are 8 (9 with GD) ahead and neither they nor Everton look like relegation fodder. It's 3 from 4. Are we better than Watford or Burnley? Don't think we are.
I think Brighton are miles better than us, I would have been happier with Potter being appointed. I don't think Leeds will be sucked in but I have a funny feeling that Everton may be sucked in. Just as it would be typically written in the stars for us to go down after a takeover I could see Rafa fulfilling his legendary status on the red half of Liverpool and taking Everton down. Unless we get 1 striker 1 cm and 1 cb in by Thursday I think we're ****ed.
Nah you missed the memo mate, everyone had it before new year except Southampton - they never got the memo either
