Got the feeling I'll have to force myself to go this evening and will be easily talked out of it (by myself). Monday's are a ****er for it. Got to make myself go, straight from work, not sitting down for a quick half hour chill.
Probelm is, if I miss one, i don't get it back, if you know what i mean? Can't just say i'll go tomorrow instead, I only get to go the nights I stay away. Which this week is tonight and Thursday. I'll go straight from work, back in time for United no probs! No beer though.
Anyway @Chief my Pegasus arrived. Took them out for a test drive today. Decent shoes, nice and comfy. Wide fit too which is great because I’ve got hobbit feet. Goretex works like a treat. Bone dry However, the grip isn’t anywhere up to the levels on those terrex continental soles. They are fine for level ground but they didn’t perform that well on wet rock or clambering over slippery stiles etc. I’ll probably keep them for dog walking and daily winter shoes around town etc, but they aren’t man enough for the really rough stuff. but tbf they are a trail running shoe rather than a hiking shoe. Decent enough 7.5 / 10
On the subject of wet weather gear. Do you wear waterproof socks @Chief ? They are a great addition to goretex shoes, because even if the shoes wet out or you go through a puddle and get water over the top of your ankles, your feet still stay dry been using these seal skinz socks for years now. Would recommend
Yeah, they are an outdoor running trainer, definitely not meant to be anything else. Will wear to gym tonight, give them a go on the treadmill see how comfy they are. Otherwise, they be for general outdoor stuff and especially when it's wet. If I was hiking and/or on rough terrain i'd be putting boots on.
No, I don't, but was looking at some for winter golf. Feet get soaking when out there as I don't own winter golf footwear. Best bet is stay on the short stuff though.
Yeah stay on the fairway. The sealskinz would defo help if you need to your David Bellamy stuff rummaging around in the undergrowth though
I probs need to get a couple of new pairs as I've almost worn through the ankles on the ones I've got But yeah, essential waterproof kit for me. Especially given the **** I'm riding through.
https://www.sigmasports.com/item/Sp...VzMLtCh2KeABuEAQYASABEgLuFvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds I have some of these for road bike when weather is grotty. Used them on trail riding on MTB and they are good, not sure if they would stand up to the slop you have been through today, I use with SPD shoes.
They look like a bit of a bastard to get on and off ? The goretex shoes and waterproof sock combo seems to work for me, but the last few rides have even tested that to the limit. It's been ****in filth out there.
I used to have a sticker of Mr T on my old bike, that said ‘Keep pedalling Fool !’ You gotta think like Mr T
