How much more evidence do you need? He held bread, and practically shriveled up and died! That's pretty intolerant!
I guess they have never heard of “Australia” before. Draconian immigration/border policies is kind of their whole thing But still I guess when you are used to privilege…
Novak’s team are claiming that 3 other tennis players have been allowed in, under special exemption rules, so are asking for him to be treated the same way. Not sure what evidence the others showed, or who they are, but they are probably now worried that they will be asked to leave.
There needs to be some clarification by the authorities as to the type of visas and what exemption rules are applied. Not individual case details but a set of regulations that could be applied in a wider context to allow for example those that have been separated by border controls can be reunited safely.
A second player at the Oz has had her visa withdrawn. Unlike Djokovic, she has had the decency to withdraw. Djokovic needs to.ask himself, what is more important, title number 21 or self respect?
Something not ringing true about this test and exemption. If big if there was a positive test what the **** is this all about? Putting all those coming anywhere close to him at risk he's a ****ing wrongun. https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2...5RLz2Nw57pKBciSHWPQMm-76V7u57IPikaMpHArazljas
Judge rules in Djokovic's favour, allowing him entry into Australia at the moment. However, Australia's immigration minister can re-cancel his Visa and ban him from Australia for 3 years.
I don’t understand. Weren’t their pictures showing he either lied about a positive test or mixed with people whilst positive for covid ? Unless they were faked which they easily could be Courts are very strange in that they seem to only consider small amounts of evidence and certain things can be discounted
I think it’s to do with the amount of time he was given . Immigration gave him 20 minutes to argue his sae at 4 am . Transcript reveals moment Djokovic is given notice that his visa may be cancelled As we mentioned earlier, the transcripts of Djokovic's interviews with border force have been released. This section catches the moment the tennis star is given notice that his visa may be cancelled and he now has 20 minutes to argue why his visa shouldn't be cancelled. The interviewer says Djokovic can request more time. Djokovic: "So you're giving me legally 20 minutes to try to provide additional information that I don’t have? "At 4 o clock in the morning? I mean you kind of put me in a very awkward position where at 4 in the morning I can’t call director of Tennis Australia, I can’t engage with anybody from the Victorian state government through Tennis Australia. "I just you put me in a very uncomfortable position. I don’t know what else can I tell you. I mean I-I-I-I everything that that they -- I was asked to do is here." "And I wouldn’t be here sitting in front of you if I if I wasn’t complying to all the rules and regulations set by your government. So I just -- I don’t know what I I mean -- to me it is a little bit shocking that you are have -- that you are going to give me the notice to cancel my visa based on what?
I was always neutral on Djokovic...I knew he was unpopular without really knowing why. However, I can see now why he’s divisive. Not talking specifically about this should he/shouldn’t he enter Australia...the courts have spoken on that, but all the other stuff that has come out...he’s weird. None of this is going to improve his popularity in Australia or elsewhere. Presumably the tennis is being played in front of a limited audience...or he’d find that Aussie fans aren’t as polite as those at Wimbledon. Having said all that...there are loads of even stupider people in the world than him and he certainly isn’t a truly bad person.
Hes never been popular with me ( not that he cares !!! ) , but there are worse . He’s a joker ( or I think he thinks he is ) , but as you say , he’s certainly not a bad person . Seems the kind of character that would love it if the tennis courts were full of bitter Aussies , it would just fire him up ! As for should he shouldn’t he play , all I will say that he has ended up as a Pawn in internal Aussie politics imho .
sorry , I really don’t understand ( not joking ) . what is meant by this ? I joined twitter but never understood it !
