    To be honest, I think it's beyond that.

    For so many years, we have seen crime get worse and worse, yet convictions continue to fall.

    Those that are convicted, are given sentences that are too lenient, would you agree?

    The Tories have had over a decade in power and they are failing us on law and order.

    In short, my solution would be to look at what this government has done, then do exactly the opposite.

    I agree that sentences are too lenient
    Unless the government sets minimum sentences it's impossible to change because the judiciary are independent
    Minimum sentences are a blunt tool. There may be good reasons to impose a small sentence but judges wouldnt have that option.
