There were some seriously worrying songs written back in the day. Happy Birthday Sweet Sixteen springs to mind and didn't Saint Bob Geldof sing about Mary of the 4th Form and that would have been in the 80's FFS. Fortunately the sexualization of young teens does seem to be a thing of the past but OMG what were people thinking.
He wanted to be their teddy bear Bill Wyman, David Bowie, Jerry Lee Lewis, Iggy Pop all supposedly guilty of under age sex. JLL actually tried or did marry his 13 year old cousin if I remember right? In regards to your comment on songs, Iggy Pop; He dated a groupie Sable Starr he released a song “Look Away” it contains the verse “I slept with Sable when she was 13 Her parents were too rich to do anything”…
Sky TV have a documentary “Look Away” it’s had some good reviews, about 80s bands and under age groupies
Yes, I imagine there are some 60-70 year olds who get a little twitchy about these historic investigations.
I hate Michael Jackson, I can’t stand him but… Out of all of them I believe he was the only one who couldn’t see what he was doing was wrong. He was mentally scarred, I doubt he had sex with young lads but I’d say possibly very questionable behaviour… If he was like me or you he should have been locked up but I believe he did what he did with an innocent mind
