Last season had Bale and Vinicius as well as the current lot. Not replacing both of those two in the summer was almost criminal.

 

Gonna sound like a broken record but imo it was moronic not sacking JM at the beginning of last February when our results and style of play went down the toilet.
We should have spent the following two months sorting out a replacement so the summer was not wasted.

This ain't hindsight cos I said that at the time.

But we are we are so I am hoping that the near radio silence is due to us working on deals behind the scenes.

 

By February, Mourinho was well into his 'pattern of decline', from which he was never going to recover. He never does.

Levy left sacking him to 6 days before the League Cup Final and subsequent events point to a failure to get anything approaching a firm commitment in place from any prospective replacement. There's never been the slightest credible suggestion, from any source, that the suggested pursuit of Nagelsmann got any futher than my suggested pursuit of Liv Tyler.

After Nagelsmann was predictably wooed elsewhere, chaos ensued. This resulted in the unintended appointment of a DoF (see Ally Gold's recent comments), who'd never worked in the PL and a burned out coach, to work with a budget that was inadequate to achieve the Chairman's stated aims.

Now, there's nowhere left to hide and no words that are going to cover up any repeat of previous failures to spend on what's actually needed, rather than what Levy/ENC would prefer to spend. Conte will walk if Levy doesn't honour his or the Lewis' family's commitments...

It’s Morecombe so this line up should win easily. I’ll be disappointed if Spurs don’t score at least 3 and concede even 1 goal.

 

Realistically, Tanganga and Rodon do - especially Tanganga after his recent mares

 

Yeah nothing but a clean sheet and a routine afternoon for the defence will be enough

 

Magic of the cup would suggest Obika comes on and bags a goal. Hopefully by then we’re already a few goals up!

 

Are we really playing Gil as a RW and Lo Celso as a LW?

 

Ndombele loses the ball and they have a decent attempt ... he really is dross... and looks either massively unfit or really disinterested

 

Lo Celso very generously passes back to their keeper from a direct free kick.

 

Old Etonians used to to that with penalties as they thought scoring from them was unsporting...bit like us in penalty shoot outs
