He has actually done that before, well taken the knee when the rest clap. He does not get a start too often.

I think we can all agree that McCann has to go after that result. Three defeats in a row and no wins in five. Useless 433 ****er. :bandit:

I am pretty sure that the commentator referred to Honeyman as Honeymoon prior to kickoff.

Tbh. At times Pearce sounded as if he'd had a few prematch sherbets. Jenas is the new Trevor Brooking, one dimensional and about as knowledgable as a block of wood.

Tom Eaves had a great game last night. All you wanted from a big centre forward. Why he hasnt done it previously remains a mystery.
there was one late on where longman crossed it to the far post for him and he headed it back across goal. Why he didn’t power to towards goal I don’t know. If he bags a couple of proper centre forward headerers in his confidence will sky rocket, whether he’s still got time with us is another question!!

strange how different players step up against better opponents isn’t it.
While no one was poor I thought greavesy was below his usual and his passing was awful.

I’ve said it on here before for him to go further he has to work on his passing, too many times last night he tried a long ball and give the ball away. Overall considering it’s his first full season he’s been really good but definitely can add more to his game.

For a bit of balance, the commentator had clearly taken time to do his homework on us, even noting that we don't like to be called Hull. Both gave City a lot of praise, and not in a patronising way.
And the ref to be fair was very tolerant, tried to let the game flow and missed at least one stonewall penalty against us! I thought he was very decent. The fact that Everton did exactly what we would have done in the last few minutes is hardly his fault; he did book one of theirs, but there's not much a ref can realistically do when a team runs down the clock like that (it's as annoying as hell for the opposition but all teams do it).

I thought referee was excellent which shows the difference in standards. He did miss Gomez blatant elbow on Honeyman mind you.... but then he could have given two penalties against Greaves...

The other thing Greaves does is to think a bit like a midfielder instead of a defender... he does like his forays forward... and not just to mid way in their half either.. not sure if its a good thing or a not so good thing... he has a great future ahead of him though...

I do think his passing game will come on but at the moment he’s better giving a shorter pass, I don’t see a problem with a CB driving forward when you play with three but that’s only if you don’t give the ball away. Like you say he has a great future and I’m sure last night someone will get hold of him and tell him to steady down with his long passing. If big Tom plays just give it to him and learn without trying to over do it.

Very proud to be a City fan, particularly after this game. Outstanding performances across the team, going toe to toe with Everton, everyone working their nuts off. Subs also joining the party, positive effect, thought Thudd brought class and calmness. Unbelievable energy from the Honeymonster, deep into extra time when Everton had a break away for George to sprint back and brilliant challenge.

Greaves needs to watch his arm positioning, fortunate no VAR, may have been penalties, although they could have had a sending off for the elbow on George. If we could play like that in regular weeks we wouldn’t be in danger zone, shows a difference when we aren’t carrying any passengers and everyone going man to man.

Fantastic atmosphere, support, well done Grant and whole squad. Just brilliant feel good feeling. UTT.

Funny isn't it? Someone just listening to the commentary would think that but seeing the game I thought it was more like £5m off his fee.

Well, maybe not quite that bad but first half one could argue he was at fault for both their goals. The first from his sliced clearance which gifted them the ball back on the edge of our box, the second where he gave their bloke down the right a clear run to the bye line for the cross.

He was better 2nd half when he had a bit more support behind him but for me he didn't deliver enough overall, 1 shot against the post and I think 3 up into row Z.

He's a better player than we saw yesterday and how the commentator made him mom while Gray was on the pitch will remain a mystery to me!

How many times in his 3 years at the club has he started in a front 2? Could prob count it on one hand easily enough I reckon, a couple of times recently he's come on at the end of a match in a 2 and looked better he, and Tyler Smith, both need a run up top together so we can see if it was a one off or a potential championship partnership
