I'm not sure any manager could get these players performing well. We have the wrong players. That is mainly down to Ashley and Charnley, but also down to Rafa and Bruce. Bruce couldn't get them performing this season and now Howe has that struggle. He has seen some improve - Joelinton as an example - but most are still the same underpar players they were before he arrived. I get what you are saying about him getting to spend milliions and that being an unfair comparison, but it is the only comparison we will have. IT is equally unfair to compare a manager picking from players he didn't choose against a manager picking from players he did (which Bruce didn't totally have but he had more than Howe does).
Missed opportunity today to play the youth, but if he'd done that and lost the same arseholes would be moaning saying he should've played today's team. I do wonder what Steve bruce thinks of all this though. Seriously it's the players it was never Bruce's fault and that's clear now... He did well with this squad for 2 seasons
A good manager gets better results out of the resources he has than a bad manager. For this ethic then that means that Bruce was actually doing a better job last season than Howe is this season. I can’t accept people giving Howe a free ride and slagging Bruce when it’s the same players. That’s just not fair. And for the record I hate Bruce. He lost against Cambridge and if anyone says it doesn’t matter then nope I don’t buy it because I said at the very start of the thread play the young ones and players on the fringes and if we lost the. Fine who cares. Bit he didn’t he went for it and he totally ****ed up. If that was Bruce he would have been absolutely slaughtered so anyone who says otherwise is being biased! FACT!
Well **** him. He’s in it for himself and he says otherwise but he’s not a team player. I appreciate he’s not a striker and that’s not his fault. But he got bossed by cambridge.
Did I or die I not say it wasn't Bruce's fault throughout the Bruce bashing? Yes or no? It's the players.
Can someone please tell me in simple terms: 1) what was the formation 2) what was the game plan in terms of attacking 3) what the substitutions were supposed to achieve Thanks
I'm getting sick of his attitude, unfortunately he's our only threat so for now we need him but as soon as we become good, he can do one.
I seem to be the only one who sees him for what it currently is. Maybe you are too. Everyone else was happy to slag Bruce off but when Howe is doing the same or worse it’s ok. That’s just not fair and I hate Bruce.
And Howe hasn’t done any better and he’s lost against Cambridge. Come on mate take them tinted glasses off.
I agree with GG. We should all get together and hound Howe out and burn his effigy at midnight each night until he goes because he had a bad day at the office today. Would hate to be employed by you, GG. We all need to take a much longer term view at the problems that the Consortium took on from Ashley and 14 years of neglect rather than respond by knee jerk reactions.
Beat Watford and this will be mostly forgotten, however it's added even more pressure to the game that we didn't need.
Nah I think the point is, for all the neglect, we should easily have enough to beat Cambridge. The formation, tactics, mental attitude of the players, substitutions, were all utter gash. At worst we’re a Chamoionshio side, but a good one and still got beat by a team SIXTEENTH in league one.
No your not getting my point. I’m not wanting to burn him. I want him judged by the same things as bruce. Anything else is not fair. And Bruce had them getting results last season. People are saying Willock has been **** this season. It’s his fault. But maybe it’s Howes. Bruce had him scoring every week. Double standards by a lot of Geordies atm. Today wasn’t a bad day at the office. It was crazy not playing a striker. Let’s play ASM in goals next because Dubravka is absolutely shocking at the moment.
