Yes, it does and a good illustration of this would be in China, where the affordability of meat to x% of the new middle classes has added pressure to rising global food prices, there again China has some the most significant solar panel domestic usage and vast areas of wind power systems and these changes, along with power saving and lower energy solutions everywhere in the world are also having an impact. Sure an African child consumes 10% of what or I do, in many parts of Africa poverty and the lack of alternatives is leading to desertification, deforestation soil erosion and general degradation of the environment on a malthusian scale. Giving these people an opportunity to work and prosper is the solution, but surely, by any humanitarian standard they deserve to live free from the shackles of abject poverty.

The press are wankers, anyone that listens to what they think need their heads looked at. There's still no proof that we're causing the temperature changes, the planet heats and cools all the time with or without humans. There is barely anything in the Universe that exists in a steady state, certainly not regarding temperature. I'll happily back up pleas to be more resourceful and to look after our planet but I'll strongly oppose claims that mankind is responsible for changes to the climate, natural disasters and melting glaciers. Especially when it is used as a tool to further tax the public.
