I'd prefer Aarons, overall. Far less expensive and doesn't appear to be as injury prone.
I'd also like to see if we could get Walker-Peters back, but that doesn't seem likely.

We're not signing 7 or 8 players in January though, we'll likely be looking to sign 3 and RWB is seemingly top of Conte's priorities.

It then depends on how serious this club is. Pay half the price for half the player or pay a proper price for one of the best talents in the country who's already better than the player at half the price?

I have no doubt Conte will get an extra amount of % out of Traore but we need to wonder if that's going to be enough for Spurs and Conte to meet this season's expectations. We're talking about a very basic player who simply has pace, there's no technique to his game and he can't defend either, shelling out the £20m for him will feel more gut wrenching than the £50m on Lamptey in the long term I'd imagine.

He's got decent technique, just crappy decision-making and poor finishing.
His final ball is ****ing awful. Either makes the wrong choice or lacks commitment.

I'm sticking by my old description of him as the best **** player ever.
Absolutely unstoppable, unless you let him do it himself.

It was a long term injury for Lamptey but it's hard to say if he's actually injury prone just yet.

I like Aarons and I've said before I'd happily have him but it's case of do you want a good prospect or a great one? Lamptey's the latter for me and I think he's got a huge ceiling.

KWP is always welcome back in my eyes, I too think it's doubtful though.

I'm starting to sound like a different poster...but I'm reckoning that Conte's been set a budget across the next 2 TW's. That's only sensible for the club and fair to the coach. Only a stadium sponsorship deal, that hasn't been budgeted for, would be likely to change that figure for the better.

Outside of such a sponsorship, whatever he spends this window isn't getting topped up in the summer. It just isn't, as much as I'd wish it to be. So spending £50m on a RWB in January may leave us with £20m to spend on a striker or midfielder in the summer.

I'm sure that Conte could come up with a significant number of better, more expensive options than Traore, as could we all. If we buy him, it's because Conte wants to spend the dosh elsewhere...or he's being stiffed. I'm told that we're not going to do the latter anymore...

I don't think that would be the case because clubs will likely receive their TV/ competition prize money and other bits of income around the end/ start of each season, you've also then gotta factor in player sales, which are likely to be more in the summer than in January, as it looks like those who are leaving this window will likely be loans/ loans to buys.

With Paratici here too it's also very possible we'll see some freebies join in the summer, he's well known for them so that as well should allow us to still spend significantly in the summer.

If Conte does indeed want Traore then as I said, so be it. But I'd be concerned that half a season to a year later we'll all likely be bemoaning spending £20m on a dud and adding him to the **** pile along with Lo Celso, Ndombele and co if they're still here.

He'll be playing with the likes of Michael Bradley and... er, that's about it.
    Managed by Brad Bobbly, too.

The one thing that Lewis and Levy understand is money. Conte's no idiot and this isn't his first rodeo, either.

I cannot for one second imagine that Lewis, Levy, Paratici and Conte haven't gone through all of the possibilities to calculate what funding's going to be available for wages and transfers over the length of Conte's contract. If that's the case, I'd be truly amazed and would despair of this club ever getting anything right, ever again under ENIC...

That figure will be additional to the proceeds of predicted player sales (which I would imagine have been estimated for those players that Conte wants out the door - hopefully at a realistic level). I cannot think that Conte has agreed to a figure that doesn't come in addition to transfer proceeds. He's a long way from being stupid. Those proceeds may increase significantly, but that's only likely to be if we sell someone who Conte planned on keeping, so it's unlikely and would raise the issue of paying to replace Kane (which I remain open to, but the club seems less willing to entertain).

Knowing that 'Our Daniel' isn't Abramovich and loves a balanced book, it's also unlikely that he'll spunk the money in the hope that Levy will just cough up some more further down the road. He knows that's not happening and he's on a budget and needs to prioritise. That's what he's doing.

This Kulusevski guy that were apparently in for looks very interesting.

Plays in a few positions, RW being his main one and AM and CM being others.

Could potentially solve a few problems in one move. 21 years old. Left footed.

Would like us make this kind of signing in this window. Him and Vlahovic.

    I know….

It's the hope that kills. <laugh>

The poor, wistful children on r/coys fantasising about a Swedish connection of Kulusevski and Svanberg, oh boy, they have much to learn...

I’ve said on here numerous times over the last few years that I’d like to see Max Aarons at Spurs, I still think he would be the ideal player and has huge potential especially working under Conte.

According to reports that isn’t true.

He’d need to go through some tests with an FA cardiologist as well his potential new club’s doctor and then a decision would be made from there.

Joel Osorio also seems to have been at Toronto forever

The weird thing is that Toronto is the only MLS team with their own academy, rather than the draft system the rest of the league uses...which I know since I keep partnering with them on FM and occasionally get a **1/2 Canadian starlet in my youth team
