Kenny Dalglish believes it is only a matter of time until Liverpool reap the rewards of their endeavours in front of goal.

The Reds boss watched on as his side racked up 29 shots at home to Norwich City, only to come away with a 1-1 draw.

However, the Scot remains upbeat about his players' performances so far this season and feels a turn in fortune will see them hit the goal trail.

"I think we've been brilliant in creating the chances," Dalglish said. "It's a huge pleasure for us that we're creating that many chances. So we'll look at the positives.

"The finishing side? Obviously we've got to add to it. But when you look at the facts and figures and reflect on what they've actually done and what they've actually created, you wouldn't bet against scoring five or six on any given day, just not today."

"I just keep waiting for our luck to change," added Dalglish. "As soon as our luck changes we'll be all right. And that's all it is.

"You can't say that we played badly in any of the games. I don't think anybody could say we played badly or that we didn't deserve more than what we got from all of those games. I don't think there's a game yet where we've taken more from the game than we actually deserved?

"Obviously I'd prefer both (to create chances and finish them). But we'll remain positive. Obviously yourselves you'll look at the chances missed, we'll look at the chances created, and there's a team (Norwich) that's gone to Manchester United three weeks ago and come away unlucky, with no points.

"Maybe they got the luck there today. It will certainly have been a more difficult game for them today than what it was at Old Trafford. We just want to finish off (our chances) and let the boys get their reward, they definitely deserve it."

Meanwhile, Dalglish believes the return to fitness of Steven Gerrard will provide Jordan Henderson with the perfect role model.

The boss has been delighted by the former Sunderland man's conduct since his summer arrival and reckons he will only improve by working with the skipper day in, day out.

"There certainly isn’t anyone better for Jordan to learn from," he added.

"If he takes something out of Stevie’s book, I look

I said this on Friday. However, I thought Saturday may be the day it all came together, so I was even more frustrated than I would have been. It needs to happen sooner rather than later.

He's right in everything he says there, the big problem is that we don't really have any time to waste while other teams are picking up wins.

I know it is all "ifs and buts" but if we had of taken just two of our chances against manu and norwich to finish both games off then we would be sitting on level points with manu, chelsea etc, so things are surely not as black as some people are painting.

I agree, we have been playing well but have to be more ruthless 29 shots v Norwich with 1 goal.

    i don't buy this stuff.

In the end its a real lack of composure in front of gaol thats costing us so whether thas pressure or what i don't know but downing was really poor, carroll may as well be on the injured list of kennys not going to pick him in a game like this one.

Its not luck! there's no such thing as one our luck changes... thats bull. Once our players put the ball on target and show a bit of composure and class in doing it we'd be fine.

the fact was we ran out of steam in the middle, ended up with kuyt left wings and it was "an shambles" in the end as the old 606 would say....... really disappointing to see so many good positions wasted.

You have a point, I tend to look on the bright side but as you say we need more composure and class in front of goal. Against Norwich it was lacking and when we did show it (Suarez volley) then the keeper pulls off a brilliant save. The luck part could be us hitting the post just that small margin would have put us in control.

I always tell my kid that hitting the post is not hitting the target so again your point stands.

MITO I agree, we got all this "we're ready" etc etc after the Stoke game before we went to Spurs and completely self imploded. WBA and Swansea next, I fully expect 6 points otherwise it could really cause us problems.

My view is that the amount of lfc propaganda the webstie drives is ridiculous. One example is who people are saying downings not doing so well... guess what a fluff piece of another player "convienently" trusn up saying how great he is and how he's settled so well.

I'm perosnally a bit sick of it cos it was the same with hodgson. Results are what matters and while i have faithi nthe back room team i think a few arsekickings are due to some players still.

Downing ought to be on the bench by now. carroll should be played or sold, carrgher ought to be dropped, adam ought to be benched for his lack of fitness.

I stated before norwich that we needed to win and we are behind the pace for even 4th. Well now we need to go get a result off of chelsea too. <applause> absolute waste of 2 points there guys. I see west brom improving week on week as well and swansea are pretty good at the back.

anyway I predicted 5th at the start of the year and find myself reverting to that stance, I've no clue which side will finish 4th but i think our record doesn't fill me with any confidence. 4 points cucked in the bin after great positions were fought for, two disasterous losses too....

4-3-2 from 9 games = 63.33 points per season form. so with 23% of the season gone well guess what. thats not near the form we need to be showing.

Now I'm depressed, I need my head buried in the sand again.

I can't argue with what is being said other than the fact that we are playing a lot better football. But results are needed and MITO is right that WBA are playing well, Swansea are up and down and their defense is usuall their downfall but they will raise their game against us.

There is no way it is that bad, yes the results are depressing but the performances have generally been pretty good. Now if it continues, that will be morrisey-esq depressing.

Agree MITO - absolutely sick of 'we'll take the positives' speeches.

The fact of the matter is - we're playing good and not winning where as other teams are not playing good and picking up all three points. I know which i'd prefer.

I suppose there is good and bad depending on your point of view, the main thing is that unlike with Roy we are playing footy like Liverpool again and have someone in charge that we trust and we know that he wants the best for us. Keep the faith guys things will pick up I'm sure.

in the end i think we need to be realistic and say no matter who we bought 5th is what we are looking at THIS year.

the real improvements we've made to the side are enrique and suarez in particular but in sqiad depth and general standard.

    Gk: reina, doni
    Rb: Johnson kelly
    CB: carragher, skertl
    Cb: agger, coates
    LB Enrique, robinson
    LW Downing.
    CM Gerrard, Adam
    CM Lucas, Spearing
    RW: henderson, Kuyt
    ST Suarez, bellamy
    ST Kuyt, Carroll

its plain we've not got the no hopers any more but my pet theory is that like city we need to crawl before we can walk and then run so we need to use our new signings to get up there and then we can compete on a one off basis for a quality player. The cities and chesleas can buy 20 players a year but if we get the one quality player and play as a team we can compete.

The problem is we have very high expectations based on nothing but the clubs name and when we throw points down the pan we wonder why....

We played (arguably) our two biggest rivals and came away with 4 points. utd played their two biggest rivals and came away with 1 point!

That's me taking a positive

MITO, you're welcome to your opinion but I think it's totally wrong. I'd be far more worried if we weren't creating the chances in the first place. We've got a new squad and are slowly but surely learning just how to use it effectively. Now you want to smash that plan and revert to some other plan that has no greater guarantee of success - that's crazy!

Let's look at the players that we have:

Suarez - we know he can score
Kuyt - we know he can score
Bellamy - he did score on Saturday
    Carroll - can score
Gerrard - we know he can score
Adam - we know he can score
Downing - he can score - occassionally

It's not as if we don't have the ability to put the ball in the back of the net!

This season's only 9 games old and you're already dissing our chances of getting 4th!! I think you've been reading too many 'experts' opinions. The real present challenge for 4th is Spurs. So Arsenal have improved but their defence is still crap. Even Newcastle fans don't expect them to finish anywhere near 4th.
