I think you're being extremely harsh and unfair on this particular poster? Massive vested interest?,what's that all about? He travels up from the deep South, hosts former players in group chat and has invited all of us to pop our heads round the door and say hello/participate... That's not vested interest. It's dedication and time given up to our Club that he simply doesn't need to give up.
I don't think the Airco being closed to other groups was primarily about the money it cost, it was simply the easiest and quickest way for the club to sort Cat 2 Academy status. It's also disingenuous to say it was closed due to the club having to pay the costs, they still pay the costs, but now don't get any revenue towards it at all (The Tigers Trust Arena Limited, set up to run the Trust from the Arena still lost £142,216 last year). Regardless of what anyone thinks about the benefits the club achieved with the resulting academy status, I don't think there is any doubt it was handled appallingly, as was the case with pretty much everything the Allams were doing at the time.
Maybe the announcement is not just Acun.... but the DOF, New Manager, New start player all in one Press Conference..
Probably BBC setting up for tomorrow. We're all like kids waiting for Christmas, and every bell is Santa on his way.
You said we there isn’t normally a 1m+ audience for a game in the U.K., I was just pointing out that a BBC game is generally several times that.
I said for our games. Tomorrow's a big deal for us. There's no way a championship game on sky gets 1m+. After a quick look, the average audience for a champ sky game is sub 250k
