Trump had a go at banning 'antifa' 'members' from entering the US via Exec Order but it fizzled out when the director of the FBI said that it wasn't possible because Antifa was only an ideology and not an organisation and in any case there was no legal authority to designate US groups as terrorist organisations.

The FBI found no evidence that it was an organised plot to overturn the election or that Trump or his team were involved. I didn't know that the FBI had concluded that Trump or his team weren't involved. I thought that the involvement of Trump and his team was still being investigated by a select committee and that the FBI were still out there arresting people who took part in the attack. I know the FBI concluded some time ago that there was little coordination of the events but the select committee was the body that was looking into Trumps involvement.
Yeah, that's the one I had seen "scant evidence that it was centrally coordinated" but the one looking into Trumps actions leading up to the events of Jan 6 is the Special House of Representatives probe. But this will have to be sorted before the Nov mid-terms as the Dems are likely to lose their narrow majority then.
My point was more directed to what Kamala Harris said. In comparing the riot, for which everyone involved should be punished accordingly, to Pearl Harbor and 9/11 she was playing to the crowd. It was a terrible riot, amongst many other terrible riots in the year before, but it was not on the scale of those two horrific tragedies where thousands lost their lives and the world was very, very much a different place afterwards. It was an angry mob rioting.

Not being American I don't know how significant the events of Jan 6 have been for them. To me it's the impact of a President not peacefully (apparently) and not willingly handing over the reigns to the next President that I find objectionable, it's a step towards chaos in my opinion. Therefore to compare Jan 6th to Pearl Harbour and 9/11 could be appropriate, in their significance in history, who knows yet or it could be to see them as the start of the mid-term election campaign.
