Howe's comments, if accurate, suggest we won't be able to get a Vlahovic-type, and clearly Coutinho isn't going to come in. It's got it's own risks of course, but by the same token we can say to players "there's no relegation release clause, we may or may not sell if you if we do go down, but if we don't you'll still be paid the same". It suggests that relegation would be a single season inconvenience, but I don't think it'll come to that. Depends what happens from here. We're still two players - top players - short of an ok window, and four short of what's needed.
