The jury decided on the basis of what they thought was right, rather than the facts. A number of judges have commented on juries doing this.

 

No statues of Barbary pirates in Bristol though. Colston was briefly replaced by a resin cast of one of the protesters, which was quickly removed, especially as she was a Londoner and not from 'round 'ere. One of Darth Vader went up for a bit and proved immensely popular, with Dave Prowse being a local lad. If there's a vote, expect him in his Vader gear to win!

One's with a statue ?

 

I wonder how many of the 28,000 who turned up on the south coast beaches last year will ultimately benefit the economy. Even if they get jobs how long would it take for them to pay back the cost of putting them in hotels, feeding them, medical care, translators etc. etc. etc. whilst being processed. I also doubt there were many, if any, nurses, doctors or teachers.

Why is "Greater cultural diversity" a pro?

 

Given that Nelson Mandela was a convicted terrorist and murderer do you think his statue in Parliament square should be taken down because of his past crimes, and do you think, if some people took it upon themselves to bring down said statue because it caused them and many more citizens anguish every time they walked past it, possibly some of the london residents could have relatives tragically and brutally murdered by this terrorist,
Would the perpetrators be within their rights to tear down this monument to murderous brutality?

need a little amendment mate, Plus I would feel its my duty as an offended ex serviceman to tear down that message of hate as would a lot of ex paras i dont think there would be a rush to stop us

 

unless they are building stadiums then the death toll doesn't matter when they are from 3rd world country as the two faced media don't publish those atrocities

 

Then the judge prior to the jury retiring has to explain what they have to deliberate on and make a decision, retrial the lot, send them down for a stretch and send a message out, either that or strike the leftie sympathiser judge off the bar.

 

Isn't trial by jury a wonderful thing?

 

If my experience on jury duty is anything to go by it's a complete farce.
