Just got my All Points East tickets for Victoria Park - August. Great value and get to see Gorillaz and others for just £60. Idles are second headliners, so I can check out Steels’ high recommendation.
I got a really neat gadget for Christmas. A Sony record player which gives out a bluetooth signal. So, I can play it through my hi-fi as normal, but I can also be in the kitchen cooking/doing the dishes while listening on my good quality bluetooth headphones. How do you rate the sound quality? Desperately need a new turntable, but worried that I'll lose that old fashioned crackle of the needle hitting the vinyl using a digital technology to reproduce the sound instead of fixed cables.
The sound quality is surprisingly good in all modes. Sounds good through my hi-fi system (an old-school Quad amp and pre-amp). I can't really notice much or any difference between this player and my old Thorens player. And it sounds really good through my Sony bluetooth headphones. Got tickets to see him in March - saw him a couple of years back and he did the whole.of "Grey Lantern" before doing his solo stuff - it was sooooo good, I'm a massive Mansun fan!
This has been doing the rounds for a couple of years, not sure if I've posted it before but heard it again yesterday and had forgotten how powerful the lyrics are... Very apt for the times we are living in
