We simply can't afford to cede the midfield to teams with better players than us. Given that we don't have 2 midfielders suited to play as a balanced and effective 2 (and we haven't for some time), 5-3-2 would seem to be the only way to go. We might stand a chance of holding on to the ball for a bit.

Unfortunately, this seems to be a constant, no matter who the manager is...and drives me ****ing nuts.

I get that we have a significant drop off from our better players to those in the darker recesses of the squad, but constantly playing those better players through December/January just decreases their level of performance, whilst increasing the likelihood of injury.

As much as it grinds my gears to admit it, I think that Poch and Mourinho failing to pick Janssen, Llorente and Vinicius has left Levy with the perfect reason not to buy a striker to 'rotate' with Kane/Sonny. However, the answer to Kane's injury issues is not to overplay Sonny. If we're going to reach March, April and May in shape to still be competitive, we HAVE to be able to rest players and DO IT.

Coincidentally that's not the first time this sentence has been used this season, as the exact same thing happened to Nuno

Really pleased the club are tackling it head on tbh...wish fans realised that there is banter and there is hatred and one is not acceptable.

FFS, the MouAnon weirdos have crawled out of the woodwork yet again to say that last night proves what a good job their god did in charge of us

Yeah, because we all remember seeing a lack of tactical cohesion, a clear collapse in player fitness levels and outright toxicity and thought "You know what, this is a bloke who is doing a good job" didn't we?

    I don't think it's homophobia.
The chant comes from one of Chelsea's "top boys" being caught with a male prostitute.
It's twisting one of their own chants that had the same tune. Chelsea aggro.
If they were to reference David Pleat's kerb crawling, then it wouldn't be misogynistic, would it?

History appears to be getting rewritten on this and people are saying it's about Chelsea as an area.
    That's simply not true.

    Did not hear the chant.
Evidently something about Chelsky players being homosexuals
(unclear as to what "Chelsea as an area" means) .

    Chelsea rent boys.
It's being suggested that the chant stems from Chelsea's historic gay sex trade.
There used to be a place to pick up said prostitutes in Earls Court, apparently.

The other suggestion is that back in the 80's, one of their 'top boys' had his front door bashed in (not a euphemism) by the old bill, who found him entertaining a male sex worker.

(Missed your earlier comment - I've been told by someone who is likely to know tha truth on this, that this is absolutely correct...and I completely believe him.)

Not a chant I associate against them (by Spurs or other supporters) .

Didn't know what the chant was...just think that homophobia is treated as a less serious issue across society...hence why I think it's good that the club tackle it head on.

Any kind of hate crime should be dealt with with the same severity as the others.

I think this tie is done. Anyone tired, carrying a niggle etc should not be risked. Go strong as possible otherwise in case they have an off night.
