Only David Silva (28) has set up more chances in open play in the Premier League than Sessegnon's 19 this season. Just need someone to put the ball in the back of the net Papiss Demba Cisse please scored 22 in 32 last season and so far this campaign has got 7 in 10 with the right players around Sess he could be a big big player for us
Someone in the Rush, Bent, Phillips mold would be nice but seeing as we have scored in each of our last six and not had a blank since Swansea who have yet to concede at home (astonishing), maybe the real problem lies elsewhere. Just to contradict myself we also have the third meanest defense in the league so maybe this isn't the problem either. So where the **** is the problem? I don't know, a few more wins obviously would be good just to settle everyone down. Onward and upward.
no **** sherlock we should really have given Bent £60k a week it's what Bruce is on and i'd pay Bent more than the fat geordie!
Isn't it the BIB's who are meant to answer an argument with well thought out anonymous internet insults? And no player should be allowed to hold my club to ransom. It's bad for dressing room morale and in the long run counterproductive. IMO.
Hardly holding it to ransom ffs He was worth more to this club than a crappy middle of the road manager. He will be getting applauded by me on Saturday
"He will be getting applauded by me on Saturday" Each To Their Own I suppose. Personally I think he'll be as welcome as a bloke called Gaddafi at a Libyan tea party. If telling the club to give him a pay rise (second time in five months) or he's off, not holding the club to ransom. Then I stand corrected. Sounds like it to me though.
We don't know the crack with him and Bruce's daughter mind. Something wasn't right but we should celebrate a player who scored 32 goals for us in a season and half! Some of his goals were vital and brought us some big scalps!
Agree to a point mate I won't be booing him but, I will not be clapping him on or off the pitch, as you say we don't know what happened so for me staying neutral.
He did his job and got royally rewarded for it in both respect and money. As for celebrating him. I'd rather celebrate Shearer. At least he showed some loyalty.
We're in a double bind here, aren't we? Bent wasn't asking what Rooney or Terry are getting. In fact, he wasn't asking for half of Terry's wages. All he was asking was what the lowest-paid England player was on. So the lad wasn't being unreasonable, was he? Calling him a 'greedy bastard' is just a sick joke. But we've got 80% of turnover going on wages now and just can't go on like that. We need to market the club better in order to be able to pay those wages, and, to do that, we need to be further up the table. Me? - I'd have docked £20,000 a week off Bruce and given it to Bent, because I certainly agree that Bent is worth more than Bruce. I won't be going to any more games till Bruce has gone, but, if I was going, I'd applaud Bent for what he did for this club. I don't think his wage request was unreasonable at all, considering other England players.
Whatever his reasons for leaving, he was onto a good thing here after we rescued his career. He could have been a legend but choose not to be. Its not as if he was on the minimum wage here, or that Villa are significantly better. He used Sunderland. Whether that was good for us as well or not does not matter. He could have been so much more.
correct answer it was no coincidence that once Bent left we went on a terrible run which we've still yet to get over. he was very vital to the team and should have been paid handsomely!
Because someone really needs 60 grand a week! Bruce told him to **** off and rightly so, that amount of money IS reasonable, especially when you're getting every week what a well-paid businessman would get per year! His wages, in one week could send me to uni, to the course I want to do, to the places I want to go. There are thousands of kids dying in Africa because they need an injection that would cost a quid, while at the same time people like Bent and Rooney are doing **** all, apart from play a game once a week and train for a couple of hours each day. The world's ****ing crazy.
We didn't tell Bent to **** off. Quinn did. And rightly so. If Bruce or anyone else at the club try to hold us to ransom I'm sure they'll get the same answer. If they ain't happy with a contract. Why sign it? If they do sign, is it to much to ask for them to honor it?
But is he on 60k a week?, I cant find anything that says he is on £3million a year, Wenger is on 6million Moyes and Redknapp on 3million but cant find anything on Bruce. Not saying he isnt, just cant find anything to say he is.
