I understand. There can be different stages that may confuse. A Statutory Demand on a Limited Company gives up to 21 days before a Winding Up Petition can be lodged with the court for sealing. This period of time can and often does get stretched. A petition is lodged with the court and is sealed. This may take several days or instantly. The order is made after the petition is heard in the court. There are several different actions that may follow the hearing. The court may accept that there is an opportunity for the debt to be settled as a sale is likely but not finalised. This means that a moratorium is entered giving time. This happened when I seized the assets of the Lotus F1 team and had to wait four months to get paid. The gap can be from the petition being heard to the company being wound up. But the Winding Up Order is still in place and an Administrator is appointed, it’s just not enacted.
