Agreed… exactly what they need. Players better than they have that have experience of the league and c ask hit the ground running They don’t need a 5 year plan and don’t have to worry about no resale value. Someone like trippier is too old to be more than a stop gap for a top side so big pay day suits him
That's a tricky one as everyone seems to believe Firpo is improving, Trippier is 32 I believe, too old to be signing for a club with a £12m price tag
Trippier at 31yo will probably have £100k per week and a 4 year deal, so the £12m outlay becomes £33m and no chance of getting your money back. He may even have a get out clause if they get relegated. What you really hope for is that he expects to be relegated but has bought into the prospect of bouncing straight back up with an expensive built team. Your guess is as good as mine. he is probably the best right back in England or indeed premier league
Yup, the money is irrelevant to them though. Top players in their prime won’t want to come, whilst lots of players looking for a last pay day will… many of whom will be leggy or disinterested. On paper trippier is the right side of that line for them. Hopefully their other signings will be the high profile past it types
Villa now taking Cottinou from Barcelona on loan and remember Gerrard knows how to use him as he was his right hand man on the pitch for Liverpool
Is it 3 million a place extra the higher you finish?. So i can see villas logic in securing him and as a loan it's fine.
Barcelona want Villa to pay 100% of Coutinho’s £380,000 per week wages over the course of the four month loan. So they’d have to finish two places higher than they would’ve done just to cover his wages.
Steven Gerrard has already spoken to the Brazilianabout the opportunity of returning to the Premier League, with talks now ongoing with regards to Coutinho's wage structure with Barcelona wanting Villa to pay 100 per cent of the 29-year-old's reported £380,000-a-week salary.
Pes me off Villa want to pay a player £380k per week(£5m for a few weeks) and we get linked with O’Brian again from the dogz who earns £12 per week and all the Chum he can eat
Paying another club’s player £6m in wages over the course of a four month loan doesn’t make any financial sense whatsoever. I’d prefer it if we signed no one, loan or otherwise, and gave Bate, who looks an outstanding prospect, a run in the side. Or bring Bogusz back. Anything’s better than paying the extortionate wages of another club’s player with a dodgy knee.
Here is what I don’t understand…. We wanted a young up and coming striker for the U23s so we did the donkey work before even hitting January and then we get the signing done and dusted lovely and quick. Why do we not show the same urgency for the main squad? I know we’re only 5 days in but have we genuinely got a target? Every week is an extra 3 points we could drop. I can’t see that we’re genuinely interested in Swift or any other EFL player as surely it would be nice and easy getting it sorted in week one
of course we have targets… it’s part of the January master plan We sniff around for a deal at the end of the January sales and make a cheeky offer for someone That’s a plan. The same plan we have every Jan
We have a list of players for every position In January there is a lot of flack. The player has to be available, the club have to have a replacement/replacement before they would allow it The player needs to be getting regular first team play(needs to be fit enough to cope from day1) Lots to think about in January and why not much gets done in prem league normally, but this season everyone we are rumoured to be looking at is also wanted by Everton, Southampton, Newcastle, Watford, Burnley, Brighton, Palace, Norwich Villa, this window is going to break records
We are close to bringing in Ryan Nyambe, a Namibian International right back who plays for Blackburn. He's likely to cost around 3m. He can play right back or centre back. please log in to view this image
