Utter nonsense. Other teams have been forced to forfeit or play youngsters It is clearly a case of “who” has covid. So in their case Klopp and the AM have it so they don’t have a touchline presence. And apparently all/most senior goalkeepers
In this case I think it's justified. They've been forced to shut their training ground unlike Newcastle. I think when a training ground is closed that's when I think you're entitled to request a postponement.
Public Health England by the sounds of it. I doubt they forced Liverpool to do it, just advised them.
Didn't Liverpool put out a very young team a few years ago in this very competition against Aston Villa becuase the senior players were involved in the World Club Championship? I thnk they tried to have the fixture moved but failed on that occasion. In any case, haven't Liverpool more important targets than the EFL Cup to pursue than to worry about losing this particular tie? The only reason to postphone the fixture is the risk to Arsenal.
Ah ok. Just wasn’t clear if it was solely Liverpool’s decision I wonder why they have it so bad. As they apparently have high vaccination rates which suggests they are taking it seriously (as I know vaccines don’t completely prevent infections)
I know a Liverpool fan who was super frustrated that Klopp subbed all the kids when they were losing to Leicester in the last round He said they should have just gone out if the young players couldn’t get them through There is a real risk the fixture pileup will get silly. Not sure how many postponed fixtures Liverpool and Arsenal now have each. I know Arsenal have their wolves one
Shouldn't be a problem for Arsenal but more problemática for Liverpool with the CL. And if Chelsea have fixtures postphoned they will have fun juggling that and the World Club Championship. More reasons for Manchester City to be happy!!
Theres no transparancy about numbers of cases among playing staff and all that so we don't know how much teams are taking the piss with the weak as piss rules. But did read somewhere that Liverpool only have 3 playing staff with covid. The other couple of cases are staff. The article did also mention that Liverpool are further 'stretched' because of the 3 players that have left for AFCON. Funnily enough 2 of them are their best players.
Yep, no doubt his lawyer is the best in the country. But even so you should never be released on bail when charged with one count of rape, never mind 7.
