The Mackems will be hurting. I don't even think any of them would be stupid enough to try and crib Trippier. I mean the guy is first choice for one of the top clubs in Europe. He has been stellar for England over the last few years. Its a fantastic signing. If Botman happens I must admit I'll be stunned. Signing guys from the CL was not how I expected this to go at all. I am looking forward to the mackems starting to say "well anyone who signs for those barbarians has to take a long look in the mirror" or some kind of ****e like that. One of my mackem mates has already said as much as he texted "Trippier is a class player but he's gone down in my estimation for chasing murderers money" I sent him one back saying "Cry some more please"
It is all a little bit surreal. I expected improvements but, as you say, not targeting CL level players. I will reserve judgement until the end of the window but Trippier is an amazing start!
