I've seen a reasonable account of what happened and I believe it to be true: Nigeria were late which gave Watford the chance to decline, there was a 3 way convo with Watford, Dennis and Nigerian management and Dennis was given the option and he chose to stay here. I feel Watford are doing a good job at protecting him and at the same time helping themselves.

There is plenty of history between Dennis and Nigeria over the years and it appears none of it good.

Fifa rules state any player called up for international duty must be released, even if injured, so they can be assessed by the country's own medical staff.

    Fair enough I guess .

But surely they don’t need to rely on someone who is half fit and certainly lacking match fitness ?

It’s not like he just has a little niggle or injury they can be sure Sarr will recover from .

I understand they are only hoping to use him for the knockout stages at best which says it all .

Surely if he joins them, but under instructions from Watford does not to train, then the club have done what they must. It then would depend on Senegal deciding if they wanted to pay all his costs for nothing.

Let him go. It's bigger than us. They'll only let him play if he can.

I guess he is in some sort of training but the 2 parties think he is at different levels of fitness .

Senegal might be more prepared to take a risk on Sarr for 3 games .

A new date has been confirmed for our trip to face Burnley at Turf Moor. The rearranged Premier League fixture will take place on Tuesday January 18 with a 7.30pm GMT kick-off.

We are pleased to learn that supporter Craig, who had a seizure during our New Year’s Day fixture at home to Tottenham Hotspur, is now recovering well at home.

    Good to hear.

He did ok in some games but the lack of fitness showed against the top teams .
So it’s going to be cold and wintery still !

Rose's fitness issues are well documented so it is no surprise tbh. I hope he is ok and wish him well.

That said, there is rumour that he decked Tufan in training! I find it difficult to believe though!

Five points from those three games could keep us out of the bottom three

Seven points would be a massive bonus

Nine points would get Claudio the freedom of Watford
