Check out the Christmas thread which I resurrected after receiving pms from people who enjoyed it last year ... ... I'll do it every year now and it'll be a record of who's left us and how people are growing. Your lads were on last year and I mentioned you but failed to tag you I think. I'm probably moving up to manage an estate near Dumfries so will get to more home than away ... ... be great to meet up
He posts in "the burly arms" on prem board marra @Makemstine Roger hasn't posted since Christmas day, hope he's ok. @rooch 3 are you in contact with Rog other than on here ?
i wont use names but we all know there are certain posters who can be both sharp and obtuse with some replies and posts but as far as i am aware none have been put on ignore and in most cases people welcome their views...this is because they rarely, if ever, stoop to resorting to personal abuse or throwing stupid, unfounded insults at people, basically, they can join in a discussion and wont lick anyones backside to try to gain likes and i can honestly see them being exactly the same 'in the flesh'. it is the childish 'i am right so you must be wrong' types that tend to get ignored and by the looks of some replies to posts i cannot see i made a good choice.
There are those who would always say the same things face to face ... ... and those who would never say them face to face. I post on here the way I'll talk to people in the pub at Wycombe and not always agree ... ... but, agree or not, I wouldn't facepalm people or use childish insults. And as for these people who sign off with a kiss Wouldn't go down too well as they left the pub.
I come on here for info on the lads and the match day thread if not at the game or watching it on TV. I've had a few run ins with others who have different opinions, but I've not put them on ignore as it's always best to try and see both sides of the story.
I particularly like to see opinions of players, especially new signings. I've defended a few, from Gooch to Winchester and back to Burge, none are perfect but I didn't think they deserved the abuse at times. But I will accept defeat with O'Brien who definitely could do it but, for whatever reason, won't. I don't think he ever wanted to be here and, having never been given a decent run in one position, will be away in January. That's providing we get one of the two attackers we're chasing, preferably both. *What I've been told by someone who's around 70% right with most of what he tells me.
I always remember the first time i met you i handed you my Jacket and asked if youd mind putting it on the Window sill behind you. You took it off me and threw it over your head .
I have been on this forum almost from the start and have never ignored anyone. I have met a good number of the posters from here for a few beers over the years and happy to call them friends.
I am pleased I started this thread, some of the replies have confirmed my original thoughts. Thanks to all who contributed.
i was one that tried to defend kilbane...he did improve when moved to right back but as i said then, he never hid and always tried but he never showed the form that we all expected from him. as for AoB, i honestly thought his run in the cup games was starting to bring the best out of him and looked forward to his first team games, unfortunately another one that promised a lot but for some reason seemed more intent on going through the motions on the pitch rather than committing fully to the cause, hope he finds a good club when he leaves as i honestly think there is a player there that just needs to feel 'right' and that doe snot look likely to happen for him here. i have read forums where bally was slagged off and wondered how so many could say mvilla was 'sh1te' yet i never fell out with a single poster when they told me i was an idiot for sticking up for them players and trying to point out what they brought to the team, only when we started shipping goals and losing midfield battles did the penny drop...and never a single apology!!
Sadly, as an exile, I'd have to admit those who tend to disrupt the place are those from outside the NE. Perhaps it's jealousy that they can see people meeting up, having a drink and going to games.
