he was there precisely because he is ex chelsea plus he is a current L1 manager so should at least have knowledge of present day football unlike most of the dinosaurs they wheel out .

he doesn't act like it though..... he might as well do a john terry and get his chelsea kit out.

I'd rather they either get the usual suspect in every time (max two) or just go full on and get in some fans. I'm not tuning in for silly banter. I'd rather get the hot chicks (they apparently have to be on now) and micah richards and do a fan zone at HT. It'd at least be a bit of fun.

get a few fans out of the stands to come on and have some bantz.

Used to find him very good but since the ESL thing he’s got very annoying thinking he speak for all football fans. Was also stupidly hypocritical over the whole Ole situation at United, just looking out for his mate while the club he owns sacked its own manager

and Carra and Neville haven’t done the same? I have no issues with any of them but Neville was being a massive twat in commentary imo. That should remain neutral.

I have to say I haven't listened to him that much recently so I'll take your word for it.
I usually find myself having to endure the likes of Macca, and my tinnitus is preferable to him.

I never tune in when carragher is on at HT either. Cant' abide the guy.

Neville was an absolute **** on commentary and celebrated both goals for chelsea. He shouldn't be allowed wihtin 100 miles of an LFc game but neither should carragher.

As bad as mcmanaman is on Bt at least you can tune his whinge out.

German games on TV are normally without co-commentators. As bad as co-commentators can sometimes be, they're generally preferable than listening to one person talk to themselves for 90 minutes.

I dunno. They are talking to us not themselves in theory. Just stay quite more and let the game do the talking.

Hmm... I remember times before co-commentary was a thing in Britain, when TV companies weren't throwing money about unnecessarily on sport. I don't recall it being any worse, tbh.

I don't mind Ally Mccoist commentating but struggling to think of another. Plenty I can't stand doing it though

I don't really mind the bias, it's too be expected. Yes, it's annoying at the time but only like it would be watching it in the stadium or pub with opposition fans. What annoys me is when they try and hide it.

In theory. Or just waffle on to fill the silence.

Yeah, but everything was better in the olden days

Could be an English/German thing as well.

I don’t mind Neville normally but he just wound me up at the weekend. If he can’t keep a lid on it, he should stick to neutral games.

I did notice, was annoying at the time but didn't really bother me once the dust had settled.

I do agree though. A lot of his comments were meant to be fair assessments but you can hear the hatred in his voice.

Don’t get how anyone can say that
He is the lowest of the low for us
He is a stealth WUM imho
He will pretend to call things down the line so he can spout utter bolloxs whenever he chooses - and people fall for it (we have a poster who does that on here - I believe lol)
Worst still many think his opinion is unbiased and valid
Neither he nor Carragher should be on the screen after the Old Trafford Invasion imho - they both condoned the actions - Neville was onscreen telling them to fight for the club and then shook the hands of those who found their way into the ground.
    Shocking to me

I only said I find him less annoying - I didn't say I agreed with him.
