I would have thought this would be bad move for City....... https://footballleagueworld.co.uk/cardiff-player-emerges-as-transfer-target-for-german-club/
Definitely bad for City but a chance for Harris? Possible Bundesliga next season. Don't want to start losing the youngsters already. It won't help Morisons plans either.
I have to say it lads but I don't rate Harris. Not quick, not up to much in the air and no real eye for goal. In his favour he works hard and supports the main striker well but if we get money for him and can upgrade, so be it.
Ryan Giles recalled by Wolves. It appears they don't need him or have they had a better offer - same as at Swans where Laird has been recalled by the Mancs. Bad news for us. He has been our most consistent player and main attacking threat. We have to get new bodies in now.
......and Wintle officially recalled by us........ https://www.blackpoolfc.co.uk/news/post/cardiff-city-activate-recall-option-on-wintle
Yes, just saw that too. Blackpool won't be happy but Wintle back for us is hardly a like for like with Giles. Basically we are back to where we were before Giles arrived. Other than the youngsters who have done well, we are no better off. Time for Bagan to step up and VT to put his hands in his very deep pockets - and take them out again full of cash. If not we are facing a desperate second half to the season.
Left (wing) back was always going to be a problem after we didnt sign a LB in the summer. Probably our biggest error. Needs to be addressed and probably scuppers any other signings like a ball playing CM.
I think the transfer cost, wages, our appeal and the general availability of ball playing Cam's may also be prohibitive in getting them too.
I see Wolves have recalled Dion Sanderson their right sided wingback as well as Giles for the left. Problem for both him and Giles will be getting any game time at all, especially after the way Wolves outplayed Man U at Old Trafford last night. Wolves were by far the better side and the 1 nil victory didn't do them justice - they made Man U look terrible. Can't see either of those loanees breaking into that side unless they are hit by a spate of injuries. Better off left where they were.
Thinking another way. How many players do Wolves have at the African Nations Cup? Could be recalls are to cover these absences? The loaners could be released back as players return to Wolves during the competition. Might be a little light at the end of the tunnel.
Bluey - only Willy Boly and Romain Saiss - both CB's. Wolves wingbacks are Semedo on the right and Marcal on the left - there's no way Sanderson and Giles would get a shot at it over those two. Not sure if Wolves have had any injuries this season in backup for those postions to warrant getting back the two youngsters. Maybe the potential future absenteeism from Covid was the main factor, otherwise I doubt either will get any game time.
