Current ST holders can buy another season ticket for another friend or family member at half price.

I'm sorry, but what a ****ing kick in the teeth that is! I paid full price for 19 games, we've only had 5 home games and now people can get one for half price for 14 games?? What about offering us some sort of refund? This surely isn't fair. We haven't played anyone special at home, so new ST holders will get all the best games at a cracking price! What do we get?

I got moved from level 7, have to pay an extra £100 to sit elsewhere and now they bring in a cut price ST just 5 games in? Shocking for people who won't be using this offer, I already go with family and friends.

I can see the clubs thinking behind it...

"lets cash in on the good mood ASAP"

Problem is this is woefully thought through! As you said, it excludes current season ticket holders from receiving any discount, essentially punishing their loyalty. AND will create further mistrust and a downturn in ST sales at the start of next season as people chance it to see if they can get a discount!

Only season ticket holders can get the discount, it seems pretty pointless to me unless you can find a mate who wants a season ticket. In that case you can buy them one and flog it to them with a nifty profit.

I don't even think this will see a rise in attendances. The vast majority of people who take up this offer are likely to be those who are non-season ticket holders but have been going to every game this season.

    Always read the small print:

    * Note these special offer season tickets are only available to residents/ST holders at the Stadium of Light* as a symbol of goodwill to alleviate the dross they have had to suffer for decades. Bring a mackem along to SJP and let them see the sun on a far more consistent basis!

    * or regulars from pubs nearby

I don't have a major issue, it'll only be for this year to bring new people in and given my ticket went down this year and is frozen for ten years I don't have any sour grapes. Texting two 'occasionals' now.

£248 East Stand, £207 Gallowgate and Leazes, less for family areas. Lure em in cheap and see if they'll pay full price next year, clever business move.

Plus remember we haven't been tested so when we do all they'll get to see is us playing crap and being beaten by Swansea and Norwich, why pay more than half price for that!

Totally missing the point. I won't be able to find anyone who will want to go, and there is no room near me anyway. Facts are, people are getting 14 games at half the price of 19. What about us who won't be able to use it?

I can see where leazes and co are coming from in that it is unfair for them to pay full price. However, surely you can see that it will be good for the club as a whole. Attendances have been pretty poor this year so far, so surely an incentive to get bums on seats is a good thing. Plus hopefully it will mean that there is a full house screaming the team on for most games.

I'm with Arfa here. Empty seats are a bummer. Me, I'd give them away to Armed Forces who have been on active service within last year.

Sounds good to me, only ST holders can buy them, as can we get the ten year price freeze. Will boost attendances and probably help sell more STs next season.

Complaining about Ticket Prices? At the Emirates you'd pay your season ticket fees for 4 or 5 games. This a good incentive for your club, a club which I believe can make Europe this season.

The should refund us loyal fans who actually paid full price at the beginning of the season when things were going bad instead of giving reduced prices to people who only want to turn up now because we are winning games. I already go with my mates anyway so I won't be taking up the offer. This is just another attack at the loyal serving fans.

This. We get shat on more than any other fan and we are the ones actually bothering to turn up in the first place! Why give a better offer to people who can't be arsed? Many will have mates who refused to go before but might now because it's cheap. And that's the type of fan the club are supporting here. We get jack **** once again.

Our ticket prices are among the cheapest in the league and those of us who stuck around for the Championship got a 10% discount this year, frozen for ten years. Plus the clubs given free league tickets to those who lost half an hour of a rained off much cheaper preseason friendly. We're not exactly getting shat on because of a short term incentive scheme.
