To be fair our last two results where we picked up 4 unexpected points came with 4-1-4-1 and 3-5-2

Rashford didn’t look too happy in the time he was on the pitch.

Who in their right mind, would make Ronaldo captain! Look at their history, always players who would run through a brick wall, and put the team 1st.
They have a massive problem at Man U. It looks like there's no leadership. In my opinion, get rid of Ronaldo and Fernandes, that would go along way to getting back to qhat they should be.

That result does make you wonder if and when Man Utd will come good. I was surprised they lost but perhaps they need to focus on building a team and not a collection of talented individuals.

Notably they need to play players in their correct positions

You can’t have sancho , greenwood or rashford in those advanced “midfield” positions in a 4-2-2-2

Especially with the other players in front and behind.

It’s almost as if he has his preferred system and will play it, come hell or highwater, regardless of personnel

I’ve gone and had a look at Hassenhuttl’s early team selections and there was not attempt to force in a 4-2-2-2 from that start

Lots of back 3s/5s for that matter

The back 3/5s were when he came in and needed to solidify us to avoid relegation

The 4222 only really started a week or two after Leicester I think, when he decided he might as well try something different (and his preferred formation )

You mean after he managed us from December through to the end of the season?

That was the point I was making. He was pragmatic based on the players he had available for months

    Ragnick is doing the opposite

Honestly, you probably could have Sancho/Greenwood/Rashford playing those roles, just not with Cavani and Ronaldo ahead of them. If you want to play in a style that means engaging high up the pitch, you have to have everyone engaging high up the pitch. If they aren't (and Cavani's trying but he isn't as mobile as he once was, while Ronaldo straight-up isn't trying) your midfield is going to get swamped continuously.

Leicester v Everton called off. Wonder how many more we'll get before rescheduling becomes a real issue

Postponing because players have gone to AFCON is a joke. They've known about that all season and should be expected to play for it from the start. They should have to count towards the 13 even if they're at AFCON , and replaced with academy players if needed.

Watch Liverpool get every game called off until Salah and Mane return now

This would be farce, which it's close to already, and given Covid isn't going away, the Premier league needs to find a backbone.

I raised it as an issue last month. Leicester, Liverpool, Watford and Palace are probably affected the most. For once, Newcastle might not need to instigate their next postponement and just leave it to Watford to do instead.

The FA's stance is 13 players plus a keeper from any player on your books regardless of age. The stance for the AFCON is any 11 players in the registered squad (or else a 2-0 forfeiture). And yet the PL persist with a far lower (and hence achievable) threshold.

If Leicester go deep in the Conference League, it already will be. Especially if they go deep in the FA cup too.

They're already three games behind, and only two more midweeks are currently guaranteed to be free and available I believe.

Not far off that SM, apparently it was a lot of false positives.

Fixtures are going to pile up for Burnley and I’m not sure they have the squad to cope

Surprised it was them who called it off as Leicester seems to have 15 players unavailable (albeit 4 apparently due to return)

Would be extra nice to win and go above Leicester even if they have three games in hand. Games in hand are not points in hand after all

Burnley are going to have a stupid amount of games in hand. Going to be a congested second half of the season for them!
