Being labelled a poor man’s Walcott should be enough to make him quit football. You just know we’re gonna sign him now too…
Conte made Victor Moses a decent RWB so could possibly coach Traore into a decent one too. That said, why not just work on improving Emerson Royal?
Apparently Conte is "still waiting" for his transfer meeting with Levy, Paratici and the board. I do hope there are some decent magazines and vending machines in the Hotspur waiting room. He could be sitting there for quite some time.
Not really, as we'd be getting the short end of the deal by exchanging somebody with three years on his contract for somebody with six months on theirs who is also on AFCoN duty this month
I think it's for rotation. Conte's system's reliant on hard working WB's, so he requires 2 WB's for each side. I didn't want us to spend £50m on Traore, for Nuno to play him up front. I just couldn't see that working any better than it has done for Wolves. Like you, I could possibly see him playing deeper as being successful...if we up our goal threat by making more runs in the box and buy a midfielder who can score from the edge of the box from cut backs. As we played against Watford, he'll be a complete waste of money.
The only plus to this is Chick King will have found a way to get rid of their used cooking oil locally
Tottenham's France midfielder Tanguy Ndombele, 25, is a possible transfer target for Roma. (Calciomercato - in Italian) Yeh right
Roma seem to be a barometer of who fans are most against Back in November they were linked with Winks Last week they were linked with Doherty Now they're linked with the guy who ordered a litre of Fanta with their two deep pan Meat Feasts, Tangy Nom Belly
Pretty much. 46 appearances, 33 in the league. Think he missed 3 after Mourinho left and only 2 before that.
Even at the reported £20-25m fee, why are we even going near him? There are far more suitable, PL proven players with far higher ceilings who are also much younger. Tariq Lamptey would be my first call, followed immediately by Max Aarons and then Matty Cash. All three are HG too. Also Traore might well be 'hard working' but he's fecked after 50mins every time he starts so that doesn't help rotation much at all. It would be like signing Van der Vaart at three times the price for a third of the talent.
The Traore rumours have got me worried. Not sure who it was that pointed it out but Conte's record in the market while at Chelsea was very hit and miss. If he struggled with pretty much infinite resources and the guarantee of trophies and CL football, I shudder to think how much he could struggle with a pack of cream crackers and Europa Conference League. I guess this is where Paratici has to earn his stripes. Levy doesn't understand transfers and hindsight would suggest Conte doesn't either.
If anyones watching the game right now, there’s been at least 3 examples since Traore was subbed on of him simply not being a footballer. Given we want RB options that are better on the ball than Emerson I just don’t see the attraction. We already have a hardworking player who is good at beating opponents but has dubious end product, we don’t need another expensive Lucas Moura.
I've long maintained that he could potentially be immense in the Bundesliga given he's always looking for through balls from deep, and that's very much how most BL clubs are set up You could certainly plonk him straight into the Monster Energy Dusseldorf midfield and see results
Yeah he’d possibly shine in Germany too. I do think he’s one who will look good again once he moves (as long as it’s abroad). He just isn’t cut out for the English game.
