I agree, although I live in Hull I can't always afford to go to the game these days so I look forward to a decent report, but some papers don't always cover the Championship games never mind Hull City. the f/ball show after match of the day is just too late for me.
Thought the coverage on the FL show was crap again. Put us in the fourth lot of highlights, even though we're joint fourth and then banged on about our lack of goals but don't balance it out with the fact that we've conceded fewer goals than anyone bar Boro, we're 8 unbeaten and we're 3 points off 2nd with a game in hand. Still, I'm happy to fly under the radar.
yes. brighton v. west ham. next week its burnley v. blackpool satdee tea time and TWS v. Gerrards Cardiff on sunday lunch both on sky. i am very happy for City to be flying under the radar. we dont need the national attention one little bit. they will soon catch on in due course.
TBH I couldnt give two hoots if the media are ignoring us! Hull City have had far too much media attention with the previous owners, im happy for us just to go un noticed, and just carry on what we are doing.
"I'd rather our accomplishments went unnoticed." - Is what all of the above translates as pretty much. Wow. Just...wow. If you were to compete in a race around the world and won it in a world record breaking time, only to find out that nobody had been watching, or even worse, nobody had tracked you along the way and therefore weren't even waiting at the finish, how would you feel? As a fan, it's always nice to get a bit of recognition from the media, because after spending years and years in the lower part of the league and shrouded in media obscurity, why the hell shouldn't we hope for a featured game or an in-depth analysis? I think the lingering problem isn't that we don't get enough, it's that we aren't show at all. I noticed that they split the CCC coverage into two, the promotion chasers and everybody else. Funny that we are 7th and described as just "everybody else". However, they did slot in a "Hull are unbeaten in 7", so I suppose that's a start. 'Under the radar' is a bollocks term, it's the equivalent of a small child not getting what they want and then saying "oh I don't want it anyway, it's stupid." I don't want a song and dance about us, I don't want them to be wearing City shirts on the show. Just an improved level of recognition for a former PL team. West Ham get it, why shouldn't we?
Tommytiger: Yes, it would be nice. But that's in a perfect world. Other clubs can see us - players, managers and fans. And we all certainly can. Anyone who's interested can. It's the fookin media, obsessed with 'the latest thing'. It'll come.....when they wake up! Why they haven't yet is because we are 'unfashionable'. **** 'em - we have a job to do and so do they. It's just that we're doing ours and they are too ****ing stupid to do theirs properly. Rant over.....
Somebody left the Sunday Times on my desk today, so I thought I would look at the City write up. Took me ages to find it, it was with the league 1 reports!
